Wow, pre-order to get access to the weekend beta events. This is just too much.

Fuck, 150 dollars. I'd like that artbook and the soundtrack but the rest doesn't really appeal to me all that much. Well, the beta purchase does.

Oh well, 10th of April it is then.

GW2 preorders are up.

If anyone should be going for the digital versions, keep in mind that right now the site is a little iffy as it's under the load from about a million fanboys (beta events should be interesting), and that pop-up/script blockers currently fuck up the transactions quite nicely, so turn that off for a moment if you do get it.

For those possibly getting a physical CE to ravage yourselves with a 10-inch figurine and rub that sweet sweet art on your nipples: keep in mind that you will have to get the "full" version code unlock from the store you reserve your GW2 CE from in order to continue playing past 5 days of "normal" (non-prelaunch access) game. Also, the preorder codes are sent "indirectly" to you via the store that you'll preorder the CE through, so if you don't get it soon enough, give the fuckers a ring.

I've reserved a CE, and just gave a call to the store - apparently they're getting a TON of preorders on that.

So, is a release date up too?

Fake edit: amazon.de suggests 30th of June. I hope this Summer is as crappy as the last  (Actually I hope it'll rock and I'll spend my time chilling at the beach and sipping cocktails in the sun instead of with some shitty computergame...)

Release date isn't up yet, but I'd say June is probably the likeliest spot, unless they run into some OH FUCKs. Pushing it too much further would make it run into MoP release window and kicking it out too soon means contending with Diablo 3.

Ffs they almost made it 1Euro=1Dolla :< About 14 dolla difference in price, contacting Latvian retailers to see their prices but I'll bet they will ask for even more. I wonder if purchasing trough proxy or something is possible.

Well, I'll be making my own non-Codex guild but I'll have alts. Besides pretty much all of my guildies lurk the Dex these days.

Anyhoo! My CE is secured. The store invites me to pick up the preorder box (no idea what it contains, yet, besides the beta code)

Yeah, i'll definitely have one of my characters represent the Codex GW2 guild. Does anyone care about being competitive? If the small group vs. group gameplay is as competitive as GW1, I'm thinking about getting competitive for GW2.

Still undecided on GW2 until I see some kind of demo/trial, but I'll be in the guild if I get the game.

Joining too, but I have my fellow latvian potato guild to consider too, dunno which will be priority.

We might even want two Codex guilds, one for competition and one for just questing/chilling.

Well I remember reading that one char can join several guilds, dunno if that's still the plan. Still I don't see a reason to split codex into two guilds.

Dunno about competitive, but the idea of small-unit tactics in 3W (Yes, I'm not going to fucking use WvWvW acronym, fuck that) is something I certainly find to my liking, and well, if PvP is as fun as it seems in general, why not competitive as well.

On the nature of codex guilds, I assume we're all going to be rolling the same race for the beta weekends so we'll be in the same starting zone?

If so, I vote for Charr.
Possibly Sylvari as a second since I'm being repeatedly informed they are totally not elves.

I'm partial to this one myself:

Guild rankings. Nothing's worse than the storyfags dragging down the W/L ratio.
