You could sign up, but I think the beta sign-ups got closed (And they had about a million sign-ups in a little over 24 hours). Funny enough, people that signed for the beta and got in are actually going to be in this week's beta event, and NOT anyone that pre-purchased.

Then again, maybe it's a beta to prepare for the beta.

Fuck it, I just ordered the standard edition since I found it for cheap. I'm guessing you can't play on US servers with the EU edition and vice versa?

Kinda not sure. They seem to be saying that what your copy region affects is what data center services it, but nothing beyond that - so it could still be that they have cross-regional server stuff going on like in GW1.

It has been my experience that being a faithful customer doesn't get you jack, all the goodies go to some random dorks.

Will there even be an uninterrupted beta phase later on or is it just the weekends?

And yeah, I've applied to beta processes for years and years and my luck with that has been pretty minimal.

Simple, but unfortunate fact: in today's world, the only things you're entitled to are the things you've paid for. After you've carefully read the contract. At least, unlike with LotRO and their devs/publishers completely fucking over the player base, all you're getting is a zero-guarantee random, one-in-a-million chance at entering a beta.

Sad? Yeah. Are you THE MOST LOYAL CUSTOMER EVAR? Hardly, bet there are tens of thousands with accs similar or even more invested. Should people with accs be treated differently from future users? Maybe, or maybe not. Prioritizing people that HAVE had a lot of GW1 experience guarantees that THEIR results will be "Bwaaah, systems dumbed down, where's my monk, wtf is this shit, why the fuck can I jump, change it back to emote we don't want no fucking jumping", while the focus of an actual non-demo beta is to gather representative samples of issues and have them fixed. A friend of mine is in the "free" beta event this weekend, never played a single GW title and is utterly psyched despite it being a stress test, ready to fill response forms for anything they ask about. Should they've picked you over her? Dunno.

I've tried to register my CE pre-purchase, but whenever I press the "no" button (related to the question if I have a previous GW account) it takes my to a blank screen.

That's odd. Try not clicking anything, just type in the code and hit Enter, maybe? I've a few friends that don't have GW1 accs either and they had no problem. Also, popup and script blockers, disable them for a moment.
