the article on their redesign increased their popularity quite a lot.
what surprises me is that charr are so damn unpopular. after the second gw1 public weekend way before game release a lot of people were crying for playable races and especially playable charr.

Linky? And the race %'s look about right, if anything there'll be even more humans when the game goes public. Charrs sound interesting in theory, but their hunchback posture is pretty crappy:

Kinda pity btw. that there's no distinctly different body shapes (or even ages for that matter - humans all look like 20-something models for example), I wanted a shriveled old mage.

Well the char editor isn't yet "complete" so there may be "older" bodies at launch, or maybe even some time after that, but yeah, that's one bit of pity there. Been hearing from ladies that they're probably rolling norn women since at least they look woman-like.

And yeah, charr posturing and their heavy run animation will probably detract a lot from their popularity. I like the idea behind them, but I gotta admit that they're not high on my race list either.

Intention so far is to try at least the starting areas with:
Asuran necro
Charr ranger
Norn warrior/guardian
Perhaps a sylvary engineer, just because of the irony.

Then I'll decide which gameplay I like most and stick to that.

Fuck humans, I can "play" a human every day of the week.

If I can find the game cheap somewhere, I'll try a Norn Thief.
"Testing characters", alts, etc. are for slow-leveling losers. ;)

Norn & human mainly. I cannot really into less human characters, usually. Besides, Guardian Human armour looks sweet.

So yeah, probably going thief/guardian/warrior, because I loves me some melee.

I'm pretty sure if you look around a bit you'll find the charr have an entirely different 4-legged "run" animation for starters. That's a pretty nice touch.

That shit tickles my bojangles.

I wouldn't mind cool alternate running animations for the other races too... I guess with Norn you can just go animal form and flock away.

Since I was unable to make heads nor tails of the GW1 crafting system back when I tried playing the thing, I was quite pleased to see GW2 crafting system explained.

That multi-craft speed-up is brilliant. Can anyone gather anything, or are they tied to the crafting professions?

That I don't know yet. But the speed-up is indeed awesome, and I hope it's not just a beta feature they've added. Then again, GW2 would actually benefit from people doing crafting faster rather than slower, as there's no monthly fee and thus no need to keep people WAITING all the effing time.

Uhm...how about...uhm...you know...you click "craft all" ...and it...like...crafts all...without any waiting...?
At the moment you guys are sounding like people praising the ingenuity of rounding off the corners on square wheels...

Totally ruins my sense of achievement if I don't have to go afk for an hour to smelt a stack of copper ore. :(
