If you don't get into beta, you get to check out a trial once the game is released. It's no different from any other game and even if it were, it'd still not be any kind of scam.

I was, but I switched to a NA server.

Game is p. cool, and it's p. different from the average MMOs. Even in the most basic things: for instance, you if you use a skill without being in range of your target, it goes off anyway and hits nothing but air (unless there's something in the way).

What I like about it the most so far is that since it doesn't have quest hubs, you can level up by just exploring around and discovering new events, skill challenges and what not. It's a lot more fun than getting a bunch of quests, completing them and flying to the next village.

Yeah. It's pretty easy to die in this game, unless you're with a zerg and just stand back with ranged weapons.

Being melee in events is a nightmare, specially with two-handers because you'll aggro everything..I switch to the rifle everytime shit gets ugly. There was a world event boss that insta-killed anything in melee, I question that design.

It's beta. They'll probably fine-tune (and completely change) quite a lot of stuff. There's also the question of learning how to play. GW1 seemed pretty tough in the beginning, too. (And finding your own way through certain areas stayed difficult, no matter how experienced you were.)

And how did attribute points turn out? Last I heard they went for some pretty good balance between normal dmg, crit dmg, hp and def. If you guys all run with dmg builds instead of investing into def, getting your butts handed to you by bosses sounds about right.

Damn, I like it. Combat's pretty tough, but I'm finally getting a taste for it, between Guardian's AoE and slow-ass damage kiting techniques on Veterans and Champions. Really liking it so far.

Also, 3 hours of sleep this 24 hours, what.

Equipment is pretty scarce so I just wear whatever is an upgrade. Another thing is that you're supposed to dodge (Geralt roll) out of AoEs and shit like that, if you just sit tight mashing buttons your HP drops really fast. And you have to use your abilities with some measure of intelligence, like saving a block for when the enemy prepares a big burst.

About the attributes, it's hard to tell how it's working out at the moment since everyone is low level, but other than the four main attributes there are some secondary ones.

Circle-strafe/kiting is also your friend as long as you don't run your ass into a pack of other things.

If I can't refund it or sell it off to a friend or something I guess I'll dualbox this game. 2 x of whatever is the best aoe class and just run around and spam that shit.
On that note, the game is broken. I play Thief and I was getting fucked up the ass by everything. Then I found a shortbow. The clusterbomb skill (2nd one) is severely overpowered. It's worth using even against single targets.

Don't think you should have any problems to get a refund for it as long as you haven't activated the other serial key.

Yeah, you should have no problem with refunding one of them. Annoying though.

Ranged attacks are currently better than melee simply because with ranged you won't eat all the attacks (though you'll learn to avoid melee ones as well soon enough)

Tried out Guardian (L17), Thief (7), Engineer (6), Mesmer (5) and now going for Warrior, so far. Oh yeah, and Emmentalist, too.
