Do you need to be on the same server for Tournaments?

You need to be in the same region. you can make a tourney team across all EU or all US servers. But you can't mix& match us & eu.

Ah cool. I would join for some tournament action, playing a mesmer or elementalist (both condition).

Okay, can you give me an example of the theory build, or a link to one?

EDIT: The handle is vaarnaaarne and the current character is Kalevinpoika. I'm also going to play a Sylvari Mesmer (I really liked creating one of these, lots of nice options) and a Jewgineer (Human Engineer).
http://www.gw2builds.org/view/748048/greatsword_leveling_burn_build_lvl45

Levelling build, I suppose this is in the right direction, covers the skills Ulminati mentions at least.
So, how do the Virtues work? I noticed they're essentially passives, but since there's always so many people all over the place (plus we had fun teaming together, me and RK) I couldn't really gauge how various things work with much efficiency.

Ulminati what's your take on the leveling build there? And what about this build:

Virtues are basically passives, yeah, they add damage to every 5th attack, or give you something nice every X seconds, like a shield or a heal. However, you can activate them at any point for an immediate burst, say you need a heal, you trigger Virtue of Resolve and it heals you and your bros for a slightly larger amount than the passive regeneration would tick (not sure of the numbers of how much larger the heal would be), but once you trigger it, it's on a CD, and while it's on that CD, it won't apply the passive bonus to you.

Anyone been abusing the trade post? Made an extra 3g over a period of a few hours of play, just investing 1g in items and then spending about a few mins 2x or 3x an hour to set prices. Just have a lvl 1 character standing next to a trader and you can switch characters, rebuy/sell items and get back to your main in a minute. Easy to do after an event, or even during an event once you've earned gold and are just waiting for it to end.

Next up I'm gonna try out Leaping Super Immortal Death Troll Legendary Unicorn Blossom™.
It's a double-dagger build running signet of malice, calthrops, roll for initiative, shadowstep and dagger storm. With energized sigils to regain stamina and maxed acrobatics/trickery. Fun skills will be:
Assassins reward which heals you whenever you use initiative.
Uncatchable, which leaves behind calthrops when you dodge.
Quick pockets, which gives you more initiative when you swap weapons.
Slowed pulse, which gives you regeneration when you have 5+ stacks of bleeding
Power of inertia, which gives you might when you dodge.
Also the minors Shadow refuge (free smoke bombs @ 25% hp), Feline grace (dodge returns some of the stamina used), Kleptomaniac (stealing gives 3 initiative) and preparedness (+3 maximum initiative).

Bro I know you pretend not to read anything I post now, but listen up. Now that I've finally gotten enough levels to be worthwhile in WvW, I've been using something like this. However, Assassin's Reward is absolute shit (were talking ~50 hp per initiative max). Slowed pulse isn't that much better either. Use this:

Signets of Power/ Signet Use
Vigorous Recovery/(optional slot, I take fleet of foot)
Uncatchable/Bountiful Theft/Hastened Replenishment

Signet of Malice/(2 signets, pick your favourite out of the 3 good ones)/(optional, i take shadowstep most of the time)/Dagger Storm

You'll have ridiculous dodge capability with potential perm vigor (each one giving caltrops, no reason to take that as a skill) and up to 15 stacks of might, with signets giving 2 initiative each and Signet of Malice giving 6 (12s recharge on that btw). FWIW a single usage of death blossom can inflict up to 6000 bleed damage AoE. You can use it 7 times in a row, dagger storm, then use it another 4 times.

For anyone else who played Tera or other no-target mmo here is something that will cheer you up while playing GW2:

GW2: Combat Mode

I already tried it and it works great for me making gameplay more fun. But your mileage may vary.

Not unless someone tells me in guild chat to do so. I see you're still a retard.

Fuck WvW. It's zergs and siege all day every day. I play tournament premade.

However, Assassin's Reward is absolute shit (were talking ~50 hp per initiative max). Slowed pulse isn't that much better either.
Try 200 hp per initiative or 1khp per death blossom.

It's a trollbuild anyway. If you want to be credit to team you go venomshare. Even moreso in WvW where you're sharing your conditions and healing with an entire zerg.

Funny, because pvp is an even more simplistic and dumbed down format. I suppose it's good for you though.

Except for where it doesn't. At least, this was the case when I tried it last week. Maybe one of the patches fixed this. You may be thinking of Signet of Malice which does actually produce those numbers and higher.

If you want a shitty build...sure. Sharing venom with your team really does jack shit when poison doesn't stack. You'll cap out at 200-300 DPS tops, which is pure shit. Only good point for it is the reduced healing effect. Devourer venom is also somewhat handy, but hardly a standout skill.

I like how Anet is warning players not to use a "third party modification" that holds down the right mouse button for you. :retarded:

Was there some definite point at which everyone useful at Anet quit?

Except for where poison DOES stack. Every application adds intensity to vulnerability. Every application of poison, chilled, immobilze etc stacks the duration. So your venomshare focus is going to see someone with 30+ seconds of poison damage and 25 stacks of vulnerability to make them hurt. And your traits count for other people applying your shared venom too, including Lotus Venom, Leeching poison and so forth.

You really haven't got a fucking clue how thieves work, do you?

Goddamn the voice acting bug is really pissing me off. I stopped doing the story quests because I rage everytime it's a character's turn to speak and he just sits there looking retarded. I know it's pointless shit but that's exactly the kind of thing that bothers me.

Question to Guardians here - is there some way to avoid being railroaded into ranged in instances? It's really frustrating to have specced into good melee just to be told that hey, you know what, you need to use ranged here. Any way of doing this without being insta-killed by half of everything you meet in there?

Short of dodging? No. Bring a scepter along. Or take your chances in melee.

Bah. Going to have to figure it out then.

Also, tried Venomshare thief in random sPvP today, HOLY SHIEEET. Went 3v1, killed them, killed a Guardian in 2 seconds flat, used Venomshare on my team when rushing a point, butchered everything in our way, wowieeee.

Yep. Venomshare is really good unless you're an utter retard like Average Manatee.

by the way i heard you can be in multiple guilds is this true?

Yes. You can only see the guild chat of one guild at a time though and influence you earn goes to whichever guild you're representing when you get it.

In exchange for losing half your damage? Sorry, I like killing things.

See, we have a problem here. You want to have your whole team spike a target, except then the target dies in 5s and all your duration stacking is useless. Unless you are having your team spread out their attacks, but thats a whole 'nother level of dumb. And on the flip side, 30 seconds of poison damage is significantly healthier than dead, which is why spike builds are better in the first place.

Vulnerability stacking IS useful (I never said it wasn't). 25 vulnerability isn't quite as good as it seems since you have to build it up, but it's good. Do you know how Vulnerability stacks btw? Its fairly hard to test and I can't find any data online.

You really haven't got a fucking clue how thieves work, do you?
Work as in fail? I suppose not.

Please tell us how unlock the dev cheats that give you a 5x damage multiplier or how to find the most ridiculously dumb opponents in the game, because without one of those you did not. I'm guessing this is a match where 3 enemies get 30s of poison and then go AFK?

So there's two people in this thread for whom it works, and one for whom it doesn't. I'm sure those two are morons, while that one knows everything. Rock on, sir.

Venom builds simply don't have damage to kill 3 people at once unless they literally stand there and take it. Maybe if it worked off AoE hits, but it doesn't. We're talking on the order of 50k-90k health you have to defeat, and that's before a single heal skill is used. That great 250 poison DPS won't go far.
