The whole idea of New Vegas already tells me it will fail to capture that Fallout feeling.

A lit-up gambling city in the middle of a wasteland makes no effin' sense whatsoever.

In environments where people are scrounging to get by, there's about a thousand different ways to use all the electricity they spend on the lights and the flash, and the games themselves, in reality, would be performed with just the basics necessary.

If I had all that electricity and technology, the first thing I would do is make sure everyone has enough food, maybe start some hydroponic farms. Then I would create weaponry to protect the city from intruders, because the less fortunate will always gravitate to prosperous areas, and their agenda will not always be a noble one.

When I think "Fallout", I don't think of flashy casinos, or flying radiobots for that matter (how do those unarmed pieces of technology survive at all?). I think of numerous settlements and factions struggling to survive in the harsh wastelands, where trust is the second biggest luxury after waterproof boots.

"I had just finished masturbating to this new Dutch scheissefickentraumglaube movie i had bought over the internet, when i stood up and turned around to go and wash myself off, when i met the eyes of my mother, who had been standing there for a whole minute.

But war? War never changes."

Released in October 2008, Fallout 3 ended a ten-year wait for a true franchise sequel.

:x

Bethesda's take might've been the first non-isometric, fully 3D-rendered Fallout with real-time combat and a strong whiff of first-person shooter, but it felt completely familiar to long-time fans.

And what long time fans might those be, you dicksucking little cunt? Certainly not the hordes of FO fans who hated everything Bethesda did to the franchise after they got their hands on it? Jesus Christ. The article simply dances around this whole issue as if everyone was just happy with that travesty of a game called FO3, simply because it went back to using 40's songs and had Ron Perlman narrating the fucking intro.

Get a fucking grip and write some hard hitting stuff instead of this redundant piece of drivel that basically just serves to hype New Vegas and suck more Bethesda cock. Long time fans were not happy with FO3, because it, contrary to what is stated here, didn't feel familiar to the first two titles in any fucking way. Bethesda scrapped the game mechanics, added a half assed VATS to try and appeal to the turn based crowd, couldn't get the atmosphere and writing right, fucked up the special system, karma system, skill system, perk system, fuck they fucking fucking everything up foghguuyerhgsdenbsa<Q!!!!!!

Combine Bethesda's vision of Fallout setting, which is based on adding even more siliness and "cool stuff" to an already silly Fallout 2 setting (while ignoring the original Fallout setting) with the fact that key people from Fallout 2 run Obsidian and the best we can hope for is the new New Reno. However, being the case that this project follows Uncle Fungus' SLAM DUNK development model and is based on Bethesda's abysmal character and combat system, we might get, as Rosh once said, the New Undermountain. At the time I'm interesting in seeing how it plays out, and I'm (unlike in the case of Failout 3, which was unfit for me to waste my playing time - reading DriacKin's LP as he sacrificed a portion of his mind at the RPG codex altar was more than enough) open to trying the TPB demo if the reviews from reliable sources are positive.

You mean those hordes of FO fans that bitched for 1.5 years about Failout 3 but as soon as it came out they were the first ones to run and buy it and then spammed the Codex with posts about how good the game is and how "Bethesda is improving"?

Who gives a fuck. We are in for several months of crappy thread spam about this piece of shit. Codex ate half-assed AP, which is the worst multiplatform title to come out in years, it will eat this because it's Obsidian. Even though it's 1:1 copy of Failout 3.
Because you are totally cool and underground if you play Obsidian's vidya

To be fair, Bethesda did improve slightly, at least on a first glance. But you're right, a lot of people here did praise Fallout 3. I did it as well, which I regret now after having played the game for aproximately 20 hours. It's shite.

But that's what the forum's for. This is one of the very few gaming forums I found where bitching about games isn't strictly frowned upon, and I do treasure this quality.

I'm talking about that thread spam where every 2nd thread on a page is discussing exactly the same stuff in the same game because people think that their opinion deserves a separate thread. Speaking about "quality" of these threads.
