On Supernova difficulty there is eating/hydrating/sleeping, and also I recall from a previous interview that companions can die only on this difficulty. So Supernova is basically New Vegas's Hardcore Mode.

No mention of whether quests will be designed without quest markers (explicit directions, road signs, making logical conclusions of where people are, etc.)?

https://youtu.be/I9ptiP6SOSQ?t=998

I wouldn't bet on it.

Thanks for the follow-up. Unfortunately it looks like it wasn't designed to be played without them, regardless of whether they eventually allow you to turn it off. Personally this is one of the things that really holds back a lot of game worlds and quest design to me, because of how linear the act of following the markers ultimately are. This is one of the reasons Kingdom Come: Deliverance really stood out to me.

Uh how much more armor slots did Bethesda's Fallout games have? Almost all of your customization came from those same two slots, body and helmet. Sometimes you could wear goggles I guess.

oh fug. Had a brain fart and confused it with Morrowind. Or because Fallout's outfits tend to look mismatched, whereas I get the feeling Outer World's armor will look very "set" like (e.g. like wearing full glass armor, full indoril armor, etc.).

Make the Codex Great Again! Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag. I helped put crap in Monomyth
for all the hemming and hawing and shitposting about this game in this thread, absolutely nothing will change come release thread.. most of us will get it and be playing it, IHaveHugeNick will be saying it is the greatest game of the 21st century and fantadomat will spend pages talking about how easy as fuck the game is and how he's playing on the hardest difficulty until he lets slip that the game only lets you have a max of 3 faults.

The PC is a blank state, more or less. The background is up to you.

Additionally: Tim and Leonard initially wanted to have choice & consequence depending on your background. But that had to be cut, so now your background (which is the career you were supposed to have in the colony) just gives you a bonus to a particular skill.

Bit of an insight into Leonard's design philosophy. Passing a dialogue skill check MUST benefit the player. You invested points into the skill so you deserve a reward.

Typically lying to an NPC requires you to pass a skill check. Tim wanted there to be a Flaw where if you lied to people too many times, you'd have the option to take a Flaw that would force you to ALWAYS lie to people. But Leonard said, if lying is always beneficial then how is that a flaw?

Boyarsky's approach to dialogue skills is rather anti-Sawyer, then again so was Deadfire's. :M

Grab the Codex by the pussy Pathfinder: Wrath
Oh they got my question about the markers :M. Shame it looks like the game wasn't designed with them being turned off in mind but Tim said he will consider it but I don't know if they will put more effort in that. Also, I really hoped for NPC schedules since it was part of New Vegas.

Sounds like they really had to cut a lot of content in this game. Guess it wouldn't be a Cain & Boyarsky game otherwise. Tim mentions one "corporate intrigue" quest that had to be cut, that would have let you empower one corporation and damage another.

Anti-dyke mod... what?
A mod to make the fugly female companions attractive, as they are the purposely "uglified" in many RPGs due to a backwards ideological crusade (SJWism).

Just read this thread if you want to know more. The subject always gets Infinitron's panties in a bunch, so he would move any discussion about it to that thread anyway.

Tim and Leonard say the combat gameplay footage we've seen is over two months old now and combat has much improved since then ("it gets better every week")

Good news for loading screen haters: Tim says loading and saving is FAST.
