Ave Maria, when was the last time we had some super hyped game that actually delivered what they promised! No microtransaction bullshit, no salami DLC, no day-one goodies or pre-purchase, almost no bugs at release, gameplay is nice, so is the dialogue, ...
That's the saddest thing about it. People keep recommending TOW not because of it's merit, but because it hasn't been stuffed with symptomatic AAA trash like microtransactions and DLCs :negative:

I know it is sad it has come to this, but at least it's a step back in the right direction. For more than a decade we are suffering from casino like behavior from these game dev executives. Just the other evening I saw my cousin's daughter play this free-to-play game on her IPAD. It was one of those Chinese platformer games, where your character runs and you must make him jump at the correct time. Well every time, her character fell, she had a fucking pop up that asked her if she wanted to buy tickets (which cost money). Well I installed her a SNES and GBA emulator on her pad so she can play some of those classics without being bothered by ADS.

Gaming is like food & beverages, the more you try the good stuff, the more you can find what you truly like. If you eat shit your whole life then you will only like shitty things!
You really think it's because obsidian are saints or it's just epic store so shitty it can't deal with dlcs?
Other games on Epic seems to pushing out DLCs and micro transaction just fine.

That abomination (Parvarotti) is the most attractive female character? Good Lord.
Hortense "Black Cat" Ingalsbee looks pretty good to me https://rpgcodex.net/forums/index.p...-leonard-boyarsky.130421/page-64#post-6378428
Nah, you're just turned on by the idea of a ruthless, cold and cruel upper-class girl bullying you, looks doesn't factor into it much. I have you figured out.

Not that she doesn't look comparatively feminine or isn't less butt-ugly than many other TOW characters mind you, it's just that I know that ain't what got you going, it was the arrogance for sure.

Standin' pretty. In this dust that was a city.
I want to feel cool
:deathclaw:
Play disco communism then,it is a cool game.

Sawyer's intrigued.. only God knows where that will lead to

He's not wrong though. Of all officially released RPG settings, Over The Edge, is probably the most similar to Disco. It emphasizes Inland Empire/Shivers kind of weirdness. Takes place on a similarly historically scarred yet independent place. And character creation uses custom, player defined skills.

I think this might be my favourite rpg ever…like ever (maybe even ever more than Deadfire and Horizon Zero Dawn and Bloodlines) it’s like Obsidian released the most amazing Netflix series over the weekend

I’m still only in Emerald Vale but the writing and the characters are amazing the world is IG filtered so good and the ships AI is voiced by Damsel!!!! To go from high cult lewks like Deadfire and glow up to the Outer Worlds and have everyone online and irl talking about it….Leonard Boyarsky and Tim Cain are like Cher and Dionne they are that fierce at makeovers!

I think you need to write the review.

If nothing else, that'll inspire someone to write another one.

Enjoy the Revolution! Another revolution around the sun that is.

Sign of the times. People praising tired, meagre offerings by burnt-out ex-stars just because they lack triple A bullshit.
That's like desperately telling yourself the new Kevin Smith movie is funny just because it's not yet another plastic superhero product full of brainless yapping and mind-numbing CGI.

Has any other aaa dev made the "you put skill points into a group of skills"?
Cause it seems to be major decline which could be copied by bethesda and others to make rpg's even less about character building.

My thoughts exactly, I'm baffled by nobody mentioning it yet.

Fallout was rejected by Steve Jackson Games in the 90s because they didn't like the "attitude" of Vault Boy against something as serious as a post-apocalypse for a game setting. So Tim and Leonard deserve respect for ditching the usual DnD RPG trends again today, very risky. Must have been hard keeping the writers unbiased even moreso today than it was in the 90s.

Moon Man and Vault Boy.
