While the EXTREME factor of leaving for a final stand is cool and would no doubt please Khorne, I'd prefer to avoid a "final" stand and instead live to fight another day. Besides, if we wanted to get involved and avoid this situation in the first place, we should have avoided meeting the Captain first or else played the good, subservient type to get his guard down and address the Tempestus situation first.

The onboard systems and flight arrays are currently powering up. Violent tremors rattle the ship, and the battle outside is reduced to chaotic bloodshed as sides and allegiances are blurred. The Captain, Detox, and Hooker are making their way to your ship. You don't know whether they're aware that you're inside, but the door is still pass-phrased sealed and you have the power to let them on board. Entek seems to have caught up with them, bearing strange machine-relics that he presumably gathered from his armory.

Entek is probably the best bet for material gain, but that's about it. Out of all of these guys, if I had to pick one to save, it would be Detox, to make things right with Nurgle. I think that it's wishful thinking at best to believe that you can save Detox, Entek and Hooker while simultaneously managing to bar the raging Khornate champion from going wherever the fuck he feels like. Realistically, I think you should either pick just one person (I think we can get one person in before the others), or take 'em all in, Cap included. This place is about to fucking blow, we don't want to have a fight at a critical time like this trying to force the Cap out of the escape craft.

Based on that, I'm going with E > B2

It's pretty easy, actually.

"Hooker, Detox, Entek, do you want aboard, too? Do me a favor and blow the goat's brains out. Lena out."

No need to force him out if he is never in.:M

We are favored by Slaanesh. He is favored by Khorne.

There is no getting him on our side. He is a dumb, violent motherfucker who hates us guts.
...well.

Items:
Artificer Armored Bodyglove

Location:
Transport Craft
Currently in the void.

A perverted pleasure builds up in you as you relish the control over their lives and deaths. You could definitely get used to this. You activate the vox-casters. "All aboard the Lena Express! Price of boarding," you announce triumphantly, adding a long pause for effect, "the goat's head."

The Captain rages furiously, battering down the blast doors of the transport craft. For a moment you fear his brute strength sufficient to destroy the door, but his efforts were in vain. Hooker sheepishly shies away, though whether she harbors any good will to the Captain or if its simply her nature to follow those in authority, you don't know. Detox as well refuses, unwilling to backstab even the psychopathic Khornate.

Instead, it is Entek who takes initiative. He unveils a strange, ancient pistol, engraved with Mechanicus scripture, and takes aim at the Captain. Remorselessly, his weapon lets loose a ray of blinding light. The Captain roars in rage and agony as his insides are burned in hellfire, flames flickering from his eye sockets and mouth. Wasting no time, you order the machine spirits of the transport to open its doors, and the four quickly enter, the door closing behind them. You activate all systems and divert power solely to the engines.

With a fraction of a second to spare, you escape the gravitational clutches of the Scourge before it implodes in a ball of flame. Eerily, you still hear the angry howls and bleats of the Captain. You give a sigh of relief, and visit the four you saved. Out of nowhere, Detox bear-hugs you with his crushing weight, his otherwise putrid odor actually pleasing to you. Hooker stands at full attention, indebted. Entek - hard to ascertain, owing to his lack of facial features.

"Nice gun, tech-head. Where'd you get it?"

"STATEMENT: It is not merely 'nice'. It is a Volkite Serpenta, manufactured on Holy Mars. I stole it in my Quest for Knowledge." He casually begins checking the ship's systems. "That is the reason for my exile aboard the Scourge of Wealth."

"Orders, madam?" asks Hooker. "This is dangerous space - right now we're sitting ducks, and our lack of a navigator is going to make life hard."

"Not likely," says the voice of the scribe. Or sorcerer. His voice is an amalgamation of voices, various echoes mingled with his mortal sound. "Why rely on the corpse=god's Astronomican, when the gods can guide our path...."

"I thought you were dead," you say playfully.

"The gods weren't finished with me," he says with a wry smile. "The Captain, on the other hand...."

"So, sis. From prisoner to Captain, all in a day. You really are something special," he says, paternal pride coming from his otherwise dead facial muscles. "Where to now, sis? I'm sure the tech-head has a star chart in his mind."

"STATEMENT: Affirnative." He displays a visual map of the sector hololithically. Thousands of stars float ethereally aboard the command deck. To the Sorcerer, he sees the shifting, fickle Warp routes.

Studying the map, you decide to:

A. Travel to Sicarius Prime, a hive world engaged in civil war.
B. Travel to Run IV, a feral world under xenos attack.
C. Travel to Bounty Rock, an asteroid port known for its borderline heretical activities.
D. Travel to Damned Carcass, a Space Hulk.
E. Hide in Warpspace.
F. Stay near the wreckage of the Scourge of Wealth.
G. Do something else:___

You're also free to roleplay with the crew and ask questions until the action is over.

G: ask the others' opinions on where to go.

"Bounty Rock's where I'd go to," says Hooker. "As long as we don't blatantly display our allegiances, they won't out us. We're out of funds too, and there are plenty of jobs there."

"Bit boring, don't you think? I'm sure Lena can handle much more than that," Detox says. "Sicarius Prime or Run IV is where I suggest. We can get plenty-a people to join us there. Faith isn't much when xenos and the like are gonna eat you."

"SUGGESTION: The Space Hulk Damned Carcass is the most prudent course. Invaluable machinery is sure to be found there. Though this transport vehicle is a child of the Omnissiah, it is an obvious truth that it can be improved."

The sorcerer smiles enigmatically, lost in thought. "Of course, the tumultuous embrace of the Warp is always free to the children of the Ruinous Powers."

Take my tallies with a grain of salt. I can't update them when I'm asleep or with no Internet access, so it's usually good to check if there were any votes after the tally was posted. Which in this case there were. It was a tie between captain and no captain. ;)
C. Heretical activities sound mighty fine to me. We should go where the vice runs rampant, the Prince of Pleasure demands it!

Khorne is pissed at us, and Nurgle loves us back again! Everything is alright with the world. :salute:

And yes, ask the crew if they perhaps have some preferences.

That's the best place to recruit for a new crew, it should be comically easy.

Oh my Emprah-eer, my Dark Gods, volkite weaponry! I love that techpriest already!

A space hulk, eh? Unfortunately we lack the three necessary requirements: Power armors (especially the Terminator variant), power weaponry and several brutes with a deathwish. So I vote for B. Let's see how it goes and if we have the opportunity to kill some Cau.

Holy shit, aside from the obvious downside of further pissing off the Blood God, this worked out great - I was way off. We got someone else to do the dirty work of offing the Captain after all.

Keep in mind that wherever we go, Tempestus and his ilk are sure to follow. Hiding in Warp Space for the time being intrigues me for that very reason - perhaps we can lie in wait and turn the tables on Tempestus - but it may be smarter to run for now. Honestly though, A, B, and C are so interesting that I'm not sure I have a really strong preference regarding where to go.

I guess A for now. I sense a lot of opportunity for playing both sides and double-crossing. I might flop to something else, though.

Wait a second, when and how did the scribe snuck inside? :)

Wasn't his head blown off, too?

When asked about why convert random people, the sorcerer said: "I needed more champions to further my cause". What cause is that?
