I'd like to play Sims 3 with all expansions but the torrent is so fucking HUGE
The Sims 3 with all expansions installed is pretty much unplayable, the engine can't handle that much content. You have to pick the expansions you really want and install only them.

Sims 2 may be a lot better, but Sims 3 has some things going for it too...

lol what the fuck
If you want to milk your fucking game for every cent possible, you fucking make sure that all your fucking expansions fucking work with your game at the same time so every fucker out there can buy ALL OF THEM and play them all at the same time for maximum milking efficiency.

This is just... an ultimate failure at milking a cash cow. How can you even fail so hard at milking a cash cow like Sims.

Well, it still runs if you have pretty much everything installed, you just need to go do something else while the game's loading. Like go to the bathroom, go make a sandwich, jerk off, have a nap, whatever.

If you got a strong computer you can play it with all expansions and with a mod like Nraas's or Awesomemod. Without mods though...nope. The Sims 3 engine is really, really poorly optimized.

Don't download any additional DLC though (Some Stuff packs are alright though, just don't do them all.). You'd be surprised at what a few extra shirts in CAS mode can do to slow the game down.

This is a really bad business decision, especially considering Sims is a game that has a strong appeal to computer illiterate people who just want to install and play smoothlessly. Not the best way to milk them for their cash if their game slows to a crawl because they bought too much stuff for it.

They should hire more competent programmers.

Honestly it's no biggie since Twallan's mods are phenomenal and the game isn't much fun without them, but EA is 2cool to take a trick outta the Valve/Bethesda handhook and hire their modders. In any case I don't think even EA realized how much they'd be milking this game and thus didn't scale properly for it. And I guess it's not really a 'failure' at milking it, go look on their forums and you'll see people asking "Wow Im so excited for this new expansion pack! Which ones should I uninstall to play this one". A sale is a sale :M

But really there's no need to have ALL the content for the game, unless you hate yourself and want to play this monstrosity:

And then there is a bug which lets adults sleep with (and impregnate) teenage girls. WalkinDude rejoice.

Someone should quickly tell ESRB so the game gets bumped up to an M rating

The next person who posts the cover of that Katy Perry pack gets banned.

Fuck that shit is horrendous.

EDIT: The recommended for Mature audiences on it though is the most hilarious thing I've ever seen.

Australia's kind of weird about their ratings. They give things like Metal Gear Solid 3 the highest possible ratings (because of the torture scene), but cartoony stuff like Team Fortress 2 (where you can blow your enemies into a few dozen pieces) gets *lower* ratings than elsewhere.

Robbaz compares it to The Sims 3:

CONS
- No CAS, so you can't slap Gabe Newell's face on all of your couches.
- Residential lots are loaded by five, so you can't walk around the neighbourhood. Houses you see around these groups are empty and cannot be visited.
- Loading between lots on the same street for some reason.
- No terrain altering, pools, basements, ghosts or non-object babies.

PROS
- Building is more elaborate: people who like the architecture aspect will love it.
- Social aspect improved: you can talk to everyone in the room regardless of your position (likely limited by distance, not sure) and socialise without standing right in front of them.

The game is also more cartoony, so this can go either way depending on if you like that sort of style.

In short, is the game worth it from launch? Not really.

I guess EA now only means Early Access

The optimist inside me hopes that EA takes this backlash and decides to work harder on the expansion packs. Given that the game should be optimized much better, hopefully there'll be more synergy between them; mixing expansions in the Sims 2 was like candyflipping (molly + LSD), while Sims 3 expansions were useless in this regard, sorta like taking molly and then completely ruining it by doing a few lines of ket and not feeling any of that empathogenic goodness.
