I don't care, they're the same genre of game. FPS based on collecting gun loot. That's all I was saying, I'm not interested in if you think they have similar atmosphere or realism, that's not what I was talking about. It's an FPS where you do quests and get guns that have stats. Stalker is the closest sort of game to it, besides maybe Fallout 3, and Fallout 3 is very different due to exploration and VATS and whatnot.

edit- I haven't played Hellgate London and if I had I suspect I would be comparing it to that instead

Don't use 4chan pics.
:avatard:

And it's a good thing you haven't played Hellgate, Metro. It's really pretty awful. There are occasionally moments where you could see some decent action RPG shining out but for all intents and purposes Borderlands is better in every way. Spent like $10 on a collector's edition of Hellgate and sort of regret it.

Now I'm having sale withdrawal.

They should've snuck a few things on sale today as a hangover sale, i went and checked out of habit, and i'm guessing heaps more would've done the same.

Don't worry bros, we'll be heading back to the weekly weekend sales. If we're lucky we'll get midweek sales too.

Wasteland 2
I played the demo of King's Bounty and really enjoyed it. But it was like two hours long, and then I found out you couldn't transfer demo saves to the full game, and that pissed me off too much to go on to buy it immediately.

Maybe should've in the sale, but I started playing HoMM instead since people were saying KB was dumbed down popamole shit version of that. So far, my main impression is that I'm supposed to be playing multiplayer instead.

Bought a bunch of games off Steam.

Currently playing Alpha Centauri, HOMM5, and possibly Panzer General.

All of whom are not from Steam.

Figures.

EUIII, Majesty 2 (+DLC) and M&B:Warband are 50% off at the moment. I guess it's some sort of Paradox sale.

yeah, looks like heaps of paradox stuff is on sale (40 items or so all up) not sure which ones are worth looking at, a bunch of them get bandied about here as good games.

Sword of the Stars complete pack for $15, too. I'd like to give Majesty 2 a try but I've heard too many negatives to not justify $20ish for it and the expansion. Not until they fix some of the issues complained about.

Same sale is on Impulse and GamersGate, I ended up getting the East India Company pack. There are a couple more Paradox games on GG/Impulse than on Steam too.

Bethesda and Id software games are going to be on sale for the next four days. Currently, there's only Oblivion at 66% off, which is still too much :smug: , but i wonder if that Call of Cthulhu game is worth it once it goes down in price.

Oblivion would be tolerable with about 20+ mods to change the vast majority of game play -- which I'm too lazy to do. Rest of the ID games... meh.

Haha, you got me before the edit -- sorry, hung on to the shift key a bit too long.

Already got Oblivion GotY Deluxe on Steam, but if Fallout 3 GotY hits $20 or less I'll be tempted to buy it again just to have a legal copy of all the DLC.

Apart from that I've already got Morrowind GotY on Steam and the id pack on Steam so I'm fairly well set. I'd get Cthulhu for cheap I guess, and if Quake Wars goes cheap I'll probably snag it since it isn't included with the id pack.

Also somewhat tempted by Global Agenda since I did the trial a while back which apparently gives me a $10 off coupon now, and the price is $30, and they removed the subscription fees. Still not sure if I wanna cough up $20 for it though.
