I picked up Divinity II: DKS as well. Now I am just afraid of that dragon shit part people keep saying was shit. Though I believe that's not for a while...

I think they changed the dragon mechanics in DKS a bit, and made the most tedious bit (flying fortresses or something?) optional. We'll see, but yeah, I think it's pretty much at the endgame of Ego Draconis.

Repeats are NWN2, GTA4, NFS, Durpspace, Mafia 2, Killing Floor, Amnesia, L4D2, PvZ, Hitman, Total War, and STALKER pack.

Indie deal is Grotesque Tactics for $3... which even at that price I probably won't buy.

How is Killing Floor? I let it go before but today I remembered that I like a good coop game, but then again I got L4D2 for that so i'm not desperately looking. Could be nice to have more choice though.

MotB is awesome. It's worth getting NWN2 only for that one. And then you get the okayish main campaign as bonus and Storm of Zehir. You may also consider getting Mysteries of Westgate later.

KF is distinct enough from L4D to warrant a purchase. The gun play is much better/more 'realistic' and the focus is more on wave survival than rushing from point A to point B. There are about half a dozen classes/perks that specialize in various weapons and you level them up by killing more 'specimens' (zombies). Weaknesses include slightly dated graphics, somewhat repetitive game play, and there's only one 'boss' type mob that spawns at the end of the set number of waves. That said, it has a bit more depth in terms of strategic set up/holding a position than L4D and the community, in general, is much less obnoxious.

Ah well, maybe I'll pick it up then. I mostly play L4D2 with people I know so the community doesn't bother me too much (and I had some good scavenge and versus matches as well). I prefer the running around from point A to point B of L4D2 to survival but if KF is more polished on that aspect it might be good enough.

Oh and the DLC only add new skins, right? No gameplay changes, advantages or whatever? If that's so, I'll happily give them a miss.

Yeah, the DLC are just character skins. I'm on the fence on Majesty Gold... the graphics whore in me is saying wait until they finally release the two other expansions to Steam for Majesty 2 and sell that in a pack.

Divinity 2 is great if you want to be forced to kill everything in an area before moving on, because no tactics will let you overcome an enemy higher level than you.

Also something they changed in DKS. Too much, according to some, but it suits me.

Can anyone else back this up? Because I'm definitely gonna try the game again if this is the case.

Worth noting that Majesty 1 is still the better game. The sequel isn't entirely terrible, especially if you're desperate for more, but 1's best.

From what I've seen of Divinity 2, the XP you get from killing enemies scales based on the level difference. So you can catch up your level quickly by struggling through some difficult fights. But you'll have to use potions/ranged combat to pull that off I'd imagine, there's no way to melee without getting hit back.

Most of my xp thus far has come from quests though, even though my level is pretty low since I mindread everyone I encounter.

Neverwinter nights 2 worth it? I hear that Mask of the Betrayer is good, and how badly can you screw up DnD any way?

Depends on the price really.
As for DnD there is a very noticeable problem with MotB. Epic levels. Basically mages only get boring +1 to stats at levels higher than 20, although fighter classes end up with something more interesting (I only played it with a mage so I don't know what precisely)

Also if any of you bros haven't played Hitman series - you better go and do it.

Never had this problem with DKS. You can even go to bosses right away in flying fortresses. Anti-dragon shields were removed there too so you can go armour-set hunting at any time you wish.

The Hitman games are good, although, a bit short. I think Blood Money only takes about 3-4 hours to complete all of the missions. Of course you can go back and try for better ratings or whatever.

Eh? You think wrong. Blood Money is definitely longer that that, especially on the first walkthrough.

I wonder why they didn't include Contracts though?

Thanks guys, I'll try the game again. I played Div2 right when it came out with the English patch, before it was even translated. So it's entirely possible that things have changed for the better.

Also, Blood Money is definitely longer than 3-4 hours. I rented it for the Xbawks a while back, and I about played that long without getting nearly halfway.

Perhaps, it's been a while since I've played myself. I ran across some 'Let's Play' videos on YouTube a week or so ago and they managed to get through it in about ~2-3 hours, extrapolating from that I figured 4-5 but I guess it all depends on how fast you pick up on the strategies.

Not sure if it's discounted, but I recently replayed Splinter Cell Chaos Theory, and man, that game is really atmospheric and varied. Way too easy, unfortunately, but you might want to try it out for the great graphics, shadows and some sneaking around. It's fun to freak out the poor guards.

Splinter Cell pissed me off: it's a game where you're supposed to sneak around in the shadows, and what do the level designers do? Cover nearly every level in darkness. I was expecting a challenge, having to sneak from shrouded corner to unlit room, and instead you can basically crouch-jog along the linear path with total impunity since the entire level is bathed in shadows.

Well, I guess it's time for the 'total haul' reports with the sale winding down. I got Stalker Pack, Meat Boy, Puzzle Quest, Swords and Soldiers, Greed Corp, Sim City 4, Evil Genius, Half-Life Anthology, Indie Beat Pack, and Indie Fright Pack. 22 games for a whopping $34. Of course you can probably throw out TF: Classic (which I'll never play) and Zombie Driver (which I already owned) but I think I stretched that entertainment value pretty far... and I'm not even counting all the games I got in the Humble Indie Bundle.

Might buy a few more games today. Considering Alien Breed 2 and 3, though they will surely be cheaper in the future. Also thinking Broken Sword 1 since I got Broken Sword 2 and 3 cheap from last Christmas sale, and maybe the Darkstar One and Patrician 3 bundle.
