Any opinions on Fear and Fear 2? I tried the Fear 2 demo a while back and didn't think much of it although apparently you can get Fear 1 and it's DLC separately for just $2.50.

50% of all Paradox games, it's just like Christmas, except better. :bounce:

Of course except their latest expansion pack for EU3, figures. Similar thing happened last year too, where Paradox withheld their latest release on Steam so that it would not be affected by the sales.

Just a heads up to anyone thinking about buying Paradox stuff: wait. Mount and Blade will definitely be a daily deal at like 75% off and I'm willing to bet Victoria 2 will be one as well.

Yep. You shouldn't buy anything unless it's a daily deal, one of the packs (indie or publisher ones), or so dirt cheap it can't get lower (talking about stuff like Civ City Rome that's $1).

FEAR is much better than FEAR 2. It has its shortcomings but it's still my favourite single player corridor shooter to date. Shooting has never been so stylish! And the AI still manages to surprise me. Its two expansions, done by another team, on the other hand are mediocre and forgettable, so if you should play anything of FEAR, it should be the main game and just that because I already suffered through Extraction Point and Perseus Mandate for you.

FEAR 2 is … decent. Big disapointment when compared to the first game, but it has its moments. I had a great time with Reborn but that's maybe because it feels that they took all the good moments of FEAR2 and put them in it, plus it's short enough to not get tedious.

Unrelated edit: for those who are interested VVVVVV is cheaper than Steam if you buy directly from the developper now. Consider it in case you wanted to get it alone.

New edit: fun, I saw that purchasing each of the FEAR game separately at once is 0.02 € cheaper than buying the pack.

From what I've read, gameplay aside, the PC port is poorly done. Worth keeping in mind.

They don't look too bad but, personally, I'll hold off until the Summer Sale to see if the bundle goes as low as 75% off.

Anybody going through the non-daily sales? I just bought Pirates for 2$, lots of cheap stuff in there but not sure if any of it is worth bothering with.

Non-daily wise Civ City Rome is $1 and Evil Genius is $1.50.

Dailies for the 21st are up -- sort of pissed about the new Gothic bundle. I have zero interest in Arcania and now that it's released I doubt they will ever bundle 2 and 3 like they did during the Summer Sale. Getting Puzzle Quest 1 for $1.50, maybe Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light although there's a further discount if you already own another Tomb Raider game, which I don't... but if they can afford to sell it cheaper to some people, they can afford to sell it cheaper to me during the summer sale~

Well nothing really awesome today. The only awesome daily is Men of War pack. If you don't have it then buy it. I haven't had so much fun in a RTS game in a long time.

Puzzle Quest is decent, and just 1,5 moneys, and then there's Witcher for 4, but I suppose it's crazy to expect that any of the monocled gents here don't own Witcher already.

How is Iron Grip Warlords?

Well, I've only played it for like 30 minutes (got it as part of one of the Thanksgiving indie packs) and it's not awful~ They market it as a hybrid of FPS and Tower defense although the 'tower defense' part plays more like the construction part of an RTS (funny enough, sort of like Men of War). You switch from overhead to first person mode at will -- in overhead mode you can build structures like machine gun nests, resupply depots, and other stuff. A stream of enemy troops and tanks invade a town you're defending and you have to hold them off with the placements and shooting them in first person mode. You unlock various power-ups to get stronger weapons/perks and better buildings as you kill more enemies. The graphics are dated, but okay, the FPS gameplay is a bit lacking. Honestly, I wouldn't say it's worth the $2.50 on its own given how cheap things on Steam can be but it's definitely worth the $1 I paid as part of a pack.

Looks like only Witcher today for me. Been wanting to pick it up on Steam though, I had the non-Taster's Choice edition retail so instead of downloading a gigantic patch and then installing that, I can just download the whole gigantic game.

Lots of good stuff today though. Lara Croft, Defense Grid, Puzzle Quest and Bioshock 2 all get my seal of approval.

Just getting Witcher for a more convenient replay option? After I did the Order and Scoitel path over a year ago when I got it I tried to replay it recently but just couldn't. Never see myself doing it again. Good game, just pretty dull once you've played it.

Is that Burnout racing game any good? I've been looking to play some arcade-y and just simple/fun racing game lately (no formula 1, nascar, rally, simulations and other bullshit, i want arcade fun) and have had no luck finding anything. The last racing game i liked was Need for speed: most wanted.

It's one of if not the top arcade racing game available on PC.

Yeah, if you're after arcade racing then by all means pick up Burnout.

Codex 2013 Codex 2014 PC RPG Website of the Year, 2015 Serpent in the Staglands Dead State Divinity: Original Sin Project: Eternity Torment: Tides of Numenera Codex USB, 2014 Shadorwun: Hong Kong Divinity: Original Sin 2 Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
Personally I can't say I liked it too much. Sure it was fun for a few hours but it quickly lost it's appeal, mostly because the cars all felt too similar. Also, the city is a bit boring and so the races don't really offer much diversity.

For arcade racing I'd much rather recommend one of the Flatout games.
