oh well, rerolled a new character, a crusader, and by the Emperor the shotgun is a superb weapon. Best sounding shotgun i think i have ever experienced, and real heft to it as well

Bought everything, even Stein's Gate which I had previously talked myself out of. Looked through my Steam order history and the last time I did a big purchase was in 2018 so I used that as an excuse to justify buying shit. :kingcomrade:
Got through the first case in Danganronpa 1. Like Shackleton said it's a shame that it's linear and there's no C&C (And the first case does seem like baby-mode tutorial), but it was still reasonably fun. Been long enough since I played Phoenix Wright so I can't accurately compare them, but it seems similar enough that I'm enjoying it. I'd probably be a lot less forgiving if it was $30+ for the single game, but for the sale price of $20 for all 3 games or whatever it was it kinda slots into the Telltale category of cheap clicking. In fact the thing I disliked the most was the little rhythm minigame, soaked up some damage there until I figured out exactly what the fuck I was doing. I appreciate that they had two difficulties to set so I had "Action" stuff on normal and "Logic" stuff on hard, but the difference "Logic" difficulty makes is simply presenting you with more evidence options when you have to counter someone and thus far it seems like those would be hard to fuck up on.

Surprises me, but it's a pleasant surprise. I guess the Japanese and weebery in general is paltable to me when it's packaged with some light adventuring. Remains to be seen if that'll hold for Steins Gate or not but I'll hope.

Since Codexers love to talk shit about vermin, whether these are consoletards, game journos, ((them)) and so on, a game where you are an actual pest control manager should be right on their alley. It is turn-based to boot.

Plead with the Elder Gods, 3D metroidvania adventure. Certainly reminds me of early 2000s 3D action adventures.

The Book of the Game, a "turn-based open-world RPG, based loosely on the books of the same name." Looks like a strange mish-mash of game. Art style goes all over the place. Looks and sounds somewhat interesting and funny at the same time.

The land of Leman is full of strife and conflict - but also opportunity.

Cassius rules the realms of man - a dangerous lunatic who believes that each of the four races in Leman were created by one of four Gods - their purpose; to battle and destroy one another. The last race standing shall be victors in this Great Game. Cassius intends to ensure this race is mankind, and his place at God's right hand will be guaranteed.
Meanwhile, the dwarfs are content to mine and research in their impregnable fortress, and the elves host parties and live in luxury, only occasionally casting uneasy glances in the direction of Greyhaven.
To the south live the orcs, breeding like flies, fighting, squabbling. Surely they are too disorganised to ever prove a serious threat to the other races?

Features

A huge game map with bandits, dungeons, monsters and settlements - plus a number of special locations.

Choose your goals for yourself. Perform basic quests (e.g. guarding warehouses), trade, get involved in Cassius's Great Game, turn to banditry, explore far flung lands - your freedom is complete.

Fight bloodthirsty, brutal, turn-based combats with many different type of enemies (e.g. bandits and soldiers, through to dragons and demons!)

Build a team of adventurers that can deal with any situation. There are 4 basic professions (warrior, acolyte, rogue, and wanderer) that can further specialise on reaching level 5. (paladin, barbarian, ranger, assassin, necromancer, etc. 20 in all)
No two of your adventurers will be the same, with many traits (e.g. fat, lucky, handsome...) to differentiate them. As they gain in levels, they will learn new skills, giving them powerful new abilities (e.g. sword mastery, leap, heal...)

Later in the game, you can even recruit non-human adventurers to your team!

Around 40 spells with a variety of effects. Summon beasts to your side, or flood the battlefield with flame!

A huge number of melee and missile weapons, armour and shields to discover. Maybe you will even find legendary artifacts, with powerful abilities?

Just exploring Leman can be hazardous in the extreme - but there are also about 50 missions that can be accepted in settlements - they range from the mundane (escort a trading caravan) through to the fantastical (vampire hunting) through to the epic (participate in an invasion of one of the other races...)

In the 2 minutes of video we only got 2 monster types (the second one is shown for a couple of seconds near the end). I think these guys started the hype a bit too early.

the follow up to Mini Metro is out, there's a bundle that includes both so if you own Mini Metro you can get it at a bigger discount.

Has anyone here played this? Does it add anything worthwile to the mini metro formula or is it just more of the same?

An oasis of love and friendship.
Make the Codex Great Again! Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag. I helped put crap in Monomyth

I've only played for an hour but so far it seems different enough from mini metro, and more refined in some areas
The big differences are traffic management: Your cars bunch up and can congest and there's more things to consider, and placement of things/terrain is more of an issue because you have to deal w/ the various buildings popping along with rivers etc. there's also different end-week tiles, there's the standard bridge but also now a motorway where you can connect one half of the map to another (say there is a green business on one side of town but all the green houses are on the opposite side and things like stop lights or roundabotus to control traffic.

here's a video of someone playing it to get an idea

In battles you can experience a deep and innovative combat system that is weighted heavily towards player choice with minimal randomness. Fight other gladiators, slaves, animals and legendary bosses that will prove a real challenge even for veterans of the game.

This was released earlier this month but searching didn't return any results and this looks like some here would like it.

Game features:

- Intriguing and engrossing puzzles that will test your ability to quickly associate facts and think abstractly.
- A dark and stunningly beautiful ecosystem on the planet Regilus.
- Superbly written, deep characters.
- A compelling and exciting story, whose finale will surprise even the most seasoned fans of the genre.
- A digital guide to help you in difficult situations and multiple difficulty levels to suit your experience.
- The game's creator and puzzle designer is the legendary Roland Pantoła - creator of critically acclaimed adventure titles such as AD 2044, Reah and the Schizm series.

Some reviews say the puzzles are convoluted guesswork, but according to one of the dev replies they did test it to see if people could understand them:

Hello! Thank you so much for such a detailed review. Your feedback is very, very important! The game was intensively tested by the PlayWay testing lab. We couldn't manage to finish it without all the help from girls and guys (they are great, BTW!). The balance of puzzles is very difficult to make. Roland Pantoła, the designer of the puzzles in Nemezis, was responsible for very difficult Schizm games and he also wanted to do something difficult here. But - how much of difficult is too much? Or too less? We had to decide on something and I can understand that it can be frustrating. Anyway! Thank you again for this great review!
