bros, what about anno 2070? I know it's a futuristic setting but what exactly do you do?
what type of goods do you trade?
is there any combat?
can you play custom games?
Goods are best covered by the wiki, as there's a shitton of them - http://anno2070.wikia.com/wiki/Goods
Three factions, or rather, two and a half, since the Scientists are only developing til Tier 3.
There's combat, though it's basically boats, aircraft, submarines and missiles, nothing horribly complex really.
There's also some research to do, and you can make your own "artifacts" this time around, if you're so inclined.
And yeah, there's custom games and also multiplayer on custom (random) maps, but getting MP to work is a bit of a pain in the dick.

Solid game though.

Soz for slow reply on that.
Thanks for the reply. But it's no longer on sale :(
Seems to be a game that's up on some sale somewhere, somewhere, all the time though.
Yeah, it's on sale often enough, latest on Summer Sale, but I'm sure it won't be that long. Pretty good game, if you're into Caesar-type city building.

Impulse-bought Spellforce 1 and 2. Anyone played them? They look like they could be pretty fun.

Impulse bought them myself over a year ago and still haven't touched them. DON'T END UP LIKE ME GRUNKER

Speaking of buying things I have no intention of really playing, picked up the Shogun 2 Rise of the Samurai campaign for $2.50. With how good Shogun 2 was I just couldn't say no at $2.50 even though I have no idea when if ever I'll get around to playing it, since if I get the urge to play Shogun 2 I'm most likely going to play the regular campaign. Gaben will be pleased with his approximate 75 cents of the price.

I got Spellforce 1 Platinum for $3.75 over a year ago. Played four or five hours, can't get into it. In combining the RTS and RPG genres they only succeed in watering down both. There are better Warcraft 3 mods.

Completed both Spellforce 1 and 2 with all expansions and enjoyed it, will buy next expansion for 2nd one whenever it comes out. It is sort of like a Diablo with more quests and you get to control more units and not as boring. I do enjoy playing rpg/rts hybrids though and usually dislike hack and slash games but I enjoyed this one a lot.

Kinda my experience as well, though it seems fun enough if I'd just sit the fuck down and invest a bit of time into it. AM I GOING NEXTGEN POPAMOLE, BROS?

Speaking of needless purchasing of games I'll never play. GreenManGaming has Fall of the Samurai for $19.79. Cheapest deal I've found and it's a steam key.

I'm playing Spellforce now. LONGEST FUCKING TUTORIAL EVER.

But the core game seems fun enough. I liked Warcraft III and this seems better in mechanics but worse (much worse, admitted) in controls. Graphics are better in my opinion.

Spellforce 1? You might prefer the art style but I don't see how you can say the graphics are better than Warcraft 3.

Aside from Cary Elwes and Tony Jay's voice acting, it's utter crap.

Nonsense, it's a full RPG by Biowareian standards. You press a button and something awesome happens for the combat, it has more stats and inventory management than the Mass Effect series, and the dialog is restricted to paragon and renegade. It even has more C&C than Bioware games since it's possible to avoid a few fights via dialog!

Truly, 2004 Bard's Tale is a beacon of incline.

Artstyle, schmartstyle.

Yeah, that's what I meant. Graphics are older I guess, but I like the look better. At it's a nice touch that buildings are somewhat realistic size compared to most RTSes. Reminds me a bit of AoEII.

I will admit the summon spell/companions are a neat idea.

Thoughts on the Square Enix Collection?

http://store.steampowered.com/sub/13870/

I have absolutely none of these games currently. Wanting Dungeon Siege so I can play U5 Lazarus. This whole thing worth $75?

Nah, I don't think the whole collection is worth $75. DXHR has been as low as $10 (and probably will be again this sale) while the other two DX titles have been $2.50 each or less. Dungeon Siege Complete is only $20 and could drop to $10 if it's one of the dalies. The Hitman pack was just $6, Just Cause 2 usually $3.75 (seen it as low as $2.50 on Amazon and it's Steamworks), and all the Tomb Raider stuff is like $10. Seems to me you could get most of the good stuff individually for cheaper -- excluding the DLC which isn't worth it anyway.

If you think you want to Tomb Raider games, buy the ones you want today then wait the other two days to see if the other games get deeper sales.

Derpus Ex Franchise 75% off: $2.50 for original, $2.50 for IW, $7.50 for Human Derpalutions (don't waste your time on the DLC). Also, the separate non-Squeeeeenix daily is the Fallout Collection (1+2+Tactics) for $6.79. Not an amazing price compared to what you can get it for on GOG but it's there nonetheless.

First day's sale was Hitman. Haven't had a Dungeon Siege sale yet.
