It's basically borderlands with zombies and some massive level scaling. Do quests, kill zombies, get weapons, kill zombies, craft weapons, rinse and repeat. Might be fun on co-op but anything is fun on co-op.

I highly doubt they fixed the steam versions of Thief to work with modern OS's'. I could be wrong but I've had next to no luck getting older games working on Steam in a modern, 64 bit OS (like the Commandos, for example). I'd love to hear if any gets them working though.

This. I got it for $10. It's not bad but can be extremely boring/repetitive solo. If you can get a few people to play with it's cool but the quests are all of the MMO variety, everything scales to your level so character progression is basically meaningless, and the world -- despite being open -- is pretty generic and uninteresting. It's just sort of there. There are no fixed locations for loot or anything. Still the combat is pretty fun and it's satisfying to beat shit with a hammer.

Welp. Doing my patriotic duty to throw money at the corpse of LGS and buying them again. All shaww heaw the wooowd of Kawwas, the woooowd of Kawwas!
$10 isn't exactly as cheap as I'd like (Already got 3 on Steam) but I've never owned Thief Gold before so what the hell. Probably. Unless I suddenly come to my senses like with 2070.

Thanks! I actually checked the forums first but either missed that post or it wasn't up yet (DECLINE in my forum searching skills).

But would Gaben let me download the game from his servers and lovingly count every hour I spent playing it? No! For shame, Morgoth!

If anyone owns the indie side scrolling strategy game Swords and Soldiers a new DLC is coming out for it tomorrow. Reasonably priced at $2 it seems to deliver a decent amount of content:

The brilliantly alliterative Swords & Soldiers Super Saucy Sausage Fest adds ten new campaign missions, an upgraded challenge mode, and a unique new combination of spells and units.

Even if you don't own it, it's going to be a part of the 'Because We May' indie sale coming up on the 24th. As fun as I found S&S I'll probably just wait for the Summer Sale and grab the DLC for like $0.50.

$25 is too much for a good game? Teenager or college student?

College student, actually. But it's not the money, HHR hits the nail on the head. I already have a huge backlog of games to play, and it's going to be cheaper on the summer sale. I'm not in a rush to play it, so there is no point in buying it now.

Ah finally Thief on Steam and it's cheaper than GoG. Finally I can play these games and get them to work.

Amazon guy on CAG just said this Paradox Pack will be only $13 on Sunday/Monday (I believe a few activate on Steam, perhaps all, but I'm not 100% sure): Crusader Kings II, Magicka Collection (+ Stars are Left DLC), Sword of the Stars II, Swords of the Stars (original complete set), and Victoria II.

Crusader Kings 2, Magicka, and Sword of the Stars 2 should all activate on Steam.
Also dear god that's an awesome deal. Here's hoping the individual Paradox prices are similarly nutty (Though they surely won't be). Hoping he gets Steam keys of the non-Steam Paradox games up before the sale since I've been eyeballing me some Paradox (Probably EU3, maybe Vicky 2, and probably Sengoku since it looks like it'll be $5 (Though it's Steam)).
Also also might have to see if I can trade my extra Dungeon Defenders for a Sword of the Stars 2 key. Heard it's super buggy and not as good as the original, but if I could swing it for a trade I'd be pleased.

That "Because we may" or whatever it was called deal should be going live tomorrow, too.

Sweet jesus that would be a good deal, just for ck2.

If you only get 1, get eu3 (not complete though, it is missing most of the game).

Yeah, assuming they get Steam keys working (And depending on price) I'm planning on picking up EU3 "Collection" which has all the major expansions.

Also wonder if they'll do a sale on Warlock. Probably wouldn't be under $10 if they do a sale on it though. Still might be interested since they seem to be patching it regularly and quickly, and the demo gave a pretty decent impression. Video games!
