    So has anyone played:

    The East India Company
    Inquisitor
    Praetorians

They are all on weekly deals for dirt cheap so I wanted to see if any were worth even installing.

Inquisitor has super nice exposition, great artstyle and fantastic music but the combat is absolutely horrendous. It will make you cry tears of blood.

Completely agree about Inquisitor. Nothing else to add to Skacky's comment.

Praetorians is basic RPS RTS with the usual (in old-school games) power-up style formations. No resource gathering, minimalist base building (it's a lot like a regular base builder if there was only one building and you could upgrade it). Fortifactions die shockingly fast. Like so fast they're almost useless. Mostly, it's a game about mining the right people for the RPS combat (a lot like Total War, in that respect). It's major trouble is it's got a sim-strategy style aesthetic sitting on conventional Rock Paper Scissors strategy gameplay. The RPS combat doesn't please the grognards or the history buffs, and the historical (and thus a bit sterile) backdrop doesn't please the casuals.

East India Company is exactly what you'd expect from a Paradox trading sim. It has the usual Paradox positives and negatives. Lots of detail. Lots of possibilities in trade and negotiation. Lots of micromanaging. Lots of crashes. Very little setting flavor. Cleaned up version of history.

Of the three, East India is the one I had the most fun with. But none of them are exactly stellar. Do also note, Inquisitor is currently in Bundle Stars Reboot 4.0, which is $3us (though they do do regional pricing), and includes Tropico Trilogy, Hard Reset, Combat Wings: Battle of Britain, Zeno Clash II, and the First Templar, along with Inquisitor.

$5 is too low for the first game, but too much for the second game.

Any amount of money is too much for games that old. Who's even selling them?

I've bought Blood on GOG ages ago. Why would I want to buy it on Steam?
