Hardly. RaceRoom Racing Experience has been mediocre up until this year. With the release of the paid expansions (yes, their business model is shit) DTM 2014 and ADAC GT 2014 they've redeemed themselves. Those expansions are some of the best simracing content out there.

Now, speaking of their older stuff, I personally would only bother with GTR 2 and GT Legends. Best content and physics wise.

I see. It seems one of the paid expansions is on sale on Steam:

http://store.steampowered.com/app/211500/

Would you say its worth it just to try the game? Would i get enough content right out of the box? Also, how's the single player? Haven't played a racing sim in ages, i'm afraid i'd get rekt pretty quick by other players.

Ok, so i bought the whole pack, and i'm now confused since apparently there's a great deal of overlap between some of those games, and i'm not sure whether i should bother downloading them all. For instance, there appear to be three versions of GT Racing, namely, GTR, GTR2 and GT Evo which is an expansion pack for Race 07. Of those three, which one should i play?

Likewise, should i even bother with Race and its Caterham expansion when Race 07 is basically an updated version of the same game?

But lastly, the pack i bought seem to include all of the expansions for Race 07 listed in the wiki:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sector3_Studios

But there's also Race Injection, which is basically a re-release of Race 07 with all of the expansions except for STCC - The Game 1 and Race On. Race 07 also has two free add ons (Formula RaceRoom and Andy Priaulx Crowne Plaza Raceway) which i'm unsure if are also part of Race Injection. So essentially, do i download Race 07 and all of its numerous expansions or should i just stick to Race Injection?

Looking at that wiki, it seems this company has made several other games, most of whom have no wiki entry and can't be found anywhere on google, except for RaceRoom Racing Experience, which seems to be some free to play shit. I'm assuming all of this is to be considered decline, right?
There is:

Race07
GTR Evolution
STCC
STCC2
WTCC2010
Retro Expansion
GT Power Expansion
Race On

Figure out what pack has these and isntall them. Then just boot Race07 from Steam and youve got access to all of these.

The other games are GTR, the sequel GTR2 and GT Legends.

All well worth playing and still my favotire racing sims.

Isn't your problem rather that you have more of those blue stickers than I do?

Any solid games that ordinarily wouldn't make it to the front page? Steam has so many titles now it's easy to miss some good ones.

Consortium is like a low budget Bioware game and Space Rangers HD is always worth buying. That's about it.

Bleh, got nothing interesting this sale. The only game I grabbed was FF13 cause it was cheap as shit. Not really interested in it, but I hear the sequels are better and so my autism demands that I start with the first part even if it is dog shit. I might spelunk into the depths of Steam to find something interesting, but overall I felt a bit underwhelmed with the offerings this year. I wanted to get the new Sherlock Holmes game, but I never saw it on a flash or daily sale.

I got

Amplitude Endless Pack (Endless Legend, Endless Space & Dungeon of the Endless)
Total War Master Collection (hadn't played a TW game since the first Rome)
State of Decay w/DLC
Paper Sorcerer
Shadow Warrior: Special Edition
Shovel Knight
Alan Wake Bundle
Rogue Legacy
X-Com Complete

All for around 70 USD. I'd say it's a pretty decent haul, even though I probably won't play any of it and will keep spending my dwindling gaming time on Dota 2 anyway.

My foreskin cheese has been limited to:

Drox Operative and expansion (Getting Drox itself for $5 with gem shit)
Space Run
Space Engineers
Halo Spartan Assault
+The Long Dark
+Pandora complete
+This War of Mine from Brut

Pretty mild sale overall. Went in to it with $90 in Steam credit from selling cards, leaving with $32 left. Don't really see myself buying anything else unless I'm missing something obvious.
The flu from hell is finally leaving me. Fever's basically gone, pain's basically gone, just trying to cough a wad of glue out of my lungs. Still have booze from Christmas that I was too sick to drink, and had booze set aside for new year I was still feeling too stick to drink. BUT THEIR DAY WILL COME. Not sure if being incapacitated by disease made me buy shit I wouldn't have or kept me from buying shit.

Quick rundown of the games I've looked at
Drox is like every goddamn Soldak ARPG ever made and I don't know why I keep buying them.
Space Engineers seems like it would be ridiculously time consuming unless you were playing with bros and cooperatively building shit, but it's still pretty cool.
Long Dark isn't nearly as interesting as War of Mine or Neo Scavenger as far as survival games go, but even as-is it's alright. Since they seem to be updating it regularly it could end up really cool. Lacks a goal compared to the others. War of Mine has victory condition, and Neo Scavenger has "Win" states as well as just tougher locations to explore as smaller goals. Not so much with Long Dark.
Made a post about This War of Mine in the thread but TLDR good stuff.

I see no reason not to try it, with it being free and all. The problem here is that the discounted DTM 2013 is more of the same. The quality really picks up with the recent releases.
And, with their free to play model, comes an in-house store, with in-house credits and content exclusive to it: http://game.raceroom.com/store/

Now speaking of actual racing. If you want to race with people online the only choice ultimately is iRacing. You can also join a league but I don't have time for that so I have no experience with it.
AI, in all games, is retarded as fuck on the first lap but gets better as the race progresses. There is no game with best AI and you won't really notice the difference between games until you get really good. The only thing to do is to turn invincibility on and call it a day.

If you decide to stick with GTR 2 and you get tired of the tracks here you can find many more: http://www.drivingitalia.net/forum/index.php?app=downloads&showcat=24
There is also this great mod: http://www.drivingitalia.net/forum/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=4531 wich basically is GT Legends but much better in the physics and sound department.

Is it true that if you buy the DTM 2013 DLC you get a discount for the others? Or should i just buy the 2014 DLCs straight up (they are too expensive for me at the moment just to try a game i'm not sure i will like. I guess i'll just have to keep an eye on them in the future).

I've been playing GT Legends for several hours yesterday and its a blast. I don't have a wheel at the moment but i found a comfortable setup with my controller and i can even use the clutch with ease (for what is worth, since apparently you can change gears without it). I think i'm going to try them all and then settle on which one i want to keep later.

I bought... uh...

Nothing. Welp. Would've bought Shovel Knight on a deeper discount or Dark Souls 2 if it came with the DLC (or was at least 75% off the main game).

I was tempted to get DS2 but in the end I figured that I won't have the time to play it and I want to finish the first one first. And yeah, I would have preferred a 75% discount myself as well. And no discount for DLC was also a turn off.

Bought Invisible Inc. but have not played it at all so far. Maybe this weekend. Only steam purchase for myself during this sale.

Would have bought Valkyria Chronicles but there was no solid discount for it. DECUUURIIIINUUUU!

If I didn't get Wasteland 2 earlier this year or the Total War collection during the thanksgiving sale (or whatever the hell that was) I would probably get those now.

I bought some stuff for my brother as a christmas gift though, but he's a poor potato-eater so he never had the chance to buy all that stuff during the billion other steam sales.

I don't know if the sale was better than usual or I had just gone longer without buying anything, but I exceeded my usual total this year:

Hammerwatch (probably bundle fodder, but whatever)
Batman: Arkham Origins (should probably play Arkham city at some point...)
Age of Wonders III (can play as dwarves; sold)
Endless Legends (classic) (hope it lives up to the hype)
Talisman + a couple DLC (come on, GW; make more 1:1 conversions of your games)
Blood Bowl Chaos Edition (which means I payed US$4.50 just to play Chaos Dwarves...)
Rogue Legacy (not my usual thing, but it sounds cute)
Warlock II (I'm one of four people on earth that really loved Warlock I despite the complete lack of difficulty)
New Vegas Gun Runners Arsenal + Courier's Stash (probably not even worth the $1.50, but I love New Vegas and I'm starting another playthrough soon)
Wasteland 2 ($20 makes it the most expensive purchase this year, don't let me down Fargo...)

All I've played so far is Warlock II; it's great if, like me, you loved dicking around in Warlock I and you're willing to pay for the option to play as dwarves. But once again, the AI doesn't know it's ass from it's elbow; the only challenge is dealing with the incredibly pumped-up neutral spawns. The only thing I consciously passed on this year is buying expensive DLC until I actually play the base game, so I didn't get the AOW III, Warlock II or Batman:AO DLC.
