Immortals of Aveum not only featured the bug-eyed black woman that is somehow in every other game but also this thing:

Strangely enough, the main protagonist looks like this, so apparently not everyone in the development studio is blind:

They are fucking trying to reprogram gamers to accept ugly females and get even more gay.
I knew something was brewing on when Pirates of Caribbean cast female with no boobs to wear corsette.

The androgynous male aesthetic is a particular style called Bishōnen. I'm only aware of this term because I remember it being used in reference to Raiden's character design during the early days of MGS2's release.
Bishōnen (美少年, IPA: [bʲiɕo̞ꜜːnẽ̞ɴ] ⓘ; also transliterated bishounen) is a Japanese term literally meaning "beautiful youth (boy)" and describes an aesthetic that can be found in disparate areas in East Asia: a young man of androgynous beauty. This word originated from the Tang dynasty poem Eight Immortals of the Wine Cup by Du Fu.[3] It has always shown the strongest manifestation in Japanese pop culture, gaining in popularity due to the androgynous glam rock bands of the 1970s,[4] but it has roots in ancient Japanese literature, the androsocial and androerotic ideals of the medieval Chinese imperial court and intellectuals, and Indian aesthetic concepts carried over from Hinduism, imported with Buddhism to China.

Today, bishōnen are very popular among girls and women in Japan.[5] Reasons for this social phenomenon may include the unique male and female social relationships found within the genre. Some have theorized that bishōnen provide a non-traditional outlet for gender relations. Moreover, it breaks down stereotypes surrounding feminine male characters. These are often depicted with very strong martial arts abilities, sports talent, high intelligence, dandy fashion, or comedic flair, traits that are usually assigned to the hero/protagonist role.[6]

That bothered me too, a corset + no tits = waste of potential for great eye candy. She was almost anorectic too and still lost consciousness from wearing a corset? The movie was still great (minus Bloom and the ending).

It's the same motivation as what's behind "body positivity", fat chicks try to influence the public's beauty standards so that they themselves may become accepted as attractive. In this case it's the fugly troons working through game studios. They hate every physical aspect of femininity that's difficult or downright impossible for men to attain without making their local plastic surgeons insanely rich, and try to downplay their significance in media. Just for their own, selfish reasons.

Really surprised no one has posted the character from the new Fable game.

True but the main character is fine. Not beautiful, mind you, but she's a hacker and a mercenary, not a freaking model.

She's not repulsive by any means, unlike some of #currentday heroines.
