Going to be funny to watch all those people try to download a 10 gig or larger game from GoG's servers on the same day.

Yes, it will be sold at GOG.com as pointed out but it'll also be sold at Steam and Impulse (last in the seller list when steam gets special mention, bit biassed eh? :-p Edit: Impulse also claims to sell it DRM free...). Not at Gamersgate though? (Edit: available at GG too, just not mentioned as one of the sellers)

If you buy from GOG you get:
Pre-order bonus: 4 bonus tracks, 10 HD wallpapers, CDP RED photo tour and 10 avatars´
PDF artbook
The Witcher 2 game completely DRM free.
16$/6$ GOG store credit if you are in EU/UK.
On of these games for free: Gothic 2 Gold, Realms of Arkania 1 + 2, Realms of Arkania 3, Divine Divinity, and Beyond Divinity. (alternate title for those who own all of them at GOG)
Rest of the stuff is same as in other DD stores.

Here's more info what you get and where you can buy it:
The Witcher 2: Collector`s Edition
The Witcher 2: Premium Edition

Won't be any different than when the people downloaded their next gen gritty popamole vegas game, or their gritty black anus popamole doody imershuv experience.

Hm, no option for Polish voices with English subtitles? I liked that in the first game. I also wish they offered the soundtrack in FLAC.

Except GoG didn't sell FNV. All of the games they sell are less than 3 gig with the bulk under 1 gig. I doubt they have the server capacity to handle a new title launch.

Oh, I'm sure GOG has the wisdom and cares enough to forestall this.

I bet Steam outsells GOG on The Witcher 2 pre-orders easily. People looooooove Steam for whatever reason, and more importantly the people who loooooooove Steam seem to hate shopping anywhere else.

It's a matter of convenience really. It's much better to have all your games in the same place instead of opening ten different clients or having to remember where everything is.

It's DRM free though, just download it and put it in your backup folder, or burn it, problem solved.

As if Poland can.

(I'd be happy to know making RPGs is yet another field the fucking pidorashka fails in while the rest of the world succeeds but... at least in this particular case pidorashka proudly eats shit alongside with the rest).

The price is the same as the steam pre-order, however as an European customer you do get 16$ store credit (because 45€ is actually 45$+16$) on games you buy on GoG.com. Which is really a good reason to get it there (that and the no DRM of course).

Oh I'm definitely with you on this, I'll be purchasing from GOG because I really want to support them. I just explained why most people are reluctant to buy from somewhere else unless it's a Steamworks title that you can activate on Steam.. Game library fragmentation is annoying.

And only $45 for preorder.

Here in Australia we typically pay 90 (AUD) for pre-orders/new releases
So for Aussies such as myself, this is a heck of a deal in comparison

I think I'll pre-order it too... Here's hoping it runs inside wine

Compared to Mother Russia, Poland is like Black Isle to Russia's Spellbound. :smug:

Don't feel bad, Russians make great flight simulators and tactical games on the other hand. :salute: That's a field I'd rather they keep concentrating on.

Exactly. Digital distribution with DRM or digital distribution without? Oh, the choices. I'm so torn. Wait no I'm not, I'll take GoG, thanks. Maybe they can add a "not old" section to it or something.

Of course. Steam just has a bigger user base to begin with, I don't expect any different. But personally, since I want to support the devs and the extras/freebies are nice enough--and I don't have any intention of buying a hard copy--I might as well go GoG. Also FUCK YES, the papercraft pdf.

@spekkio: who are you.

No DRM. :incline:

Just hope people don't see it as a free pass to pirate. :( It's fine with shitty Bethesda and BioWare games, but you gotta support this.

Amazon.com has a pre-order up for the $130 collector's edition now, if anyone else is stupid like me and loves boxes and other crap.

Wow GOG release without DRM is a huge plus (and without Steam.. aka "DRM with fans").

I think GOG should make a category for new PC games where developers who care willing to release their games without DRM will be able to do so (probably RPG developers, Indie or not).

Also..

But what's happened to our console adaptations? That's what we're hoping to find out at the press conference this evening. We've sent news editor Wesley Yin-Poole packing to Poland to find out.

Pretty much the reason I dont bother reading their reviews for PC games at all. Maybe if they start questioning the non-existence of PC releases for console-only games..

What kind of convenience is that? It's much better to have all your games inside boxes sitting on your shelf, rather than on servers located Poseidon knows where.

It really isn't, i've got boxes and boxes of shit just taking up space. I've resorted to fobbing off as much of this gaming crap as i can to my nephews.

So does Poland

However when it comes to gameplay Russia can into Silent Storm while Poland can into click a single button when I tell you
