Well, we did know it would happen.

http://www.ps3site.pl/hot-wiedzmin-2-ta ... tym/69024/

PS3 Site Polska has word, in the site's native Polish, on plans for console versions of The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings. They say this comes from a TV interview where CD Projekt's Michael Kicinski, answered about console plans saying (translated): "Yes, it is for us an entirely new project. But of course, already working on it. You can expect that during such events as the largest fair in the world of computer games, or E3 and Gamescom inform you about what is currently working on ..." They also address the first thought that popped to mind after reading this, saying (also translated): "And no, this is not a statement or taken out of context or incorrectly translated."

Cool. Maybe releasing it on platforms that saw good action games like Ninja Gaiden will force them to make combat not shit. If recent gameplay videos are anything to go by, Geralt is never at any real danger because enemies are slow, not aggressive and don't hit hard. Oh, and Assassin's Creed counterattacks of instant death are in.

from what they said in recent interviews (i mean cdprojekt founders - michal kicinski and marcin iwinski) it seems that x360 version will be released around x-mas and ps3 version a few months later. official announcment will happen on e3.

Porting a PC game to the consoles =/= porting a shit console game to the PC. Its more like inclining the consoles. Assuming that TW2 will be good.

But I wouldnt object to some console ports for the PC, there ARE good games there to be taken and assimilated.

Judging by what I've seen, it depends on the kind of the enemy, and the quantity (and the difficulty setting, obviously). If you're not careful some of them may destroy you momentarily, like here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BQ5T6FYPOY4 from 1:05.

True, but that's not why people are worried by this. They are afraid of the next logical step, ie "we understand that the console people thought our game was not accessible enough/run like shit/was in need of streamlining, so this time we're putting equal focus on all platforms to ensure quality across all of them blah blah blah". You just know this means "we'll make sure the game plays and runs well enough on consoles and then port it to PC". See the transition from DAO to DA2 as a great example. I liked DA2 but it was obvious that, while DAO was a PC game that got ported to consoles, DA2 was the other way around.

"Equal focus on all platforms" is a myth. That's why I'm very worried about Risen 2.

console gaming is the real future

pc gaming is dead now

get over it fags

the best PC games barely register on the XBOX because of how superior the XBOX games are

The best PC games also don't register on the ps3 at all because psn is dead :smug:

They already made TW2 thinking in a console port. You can see that through little details, like:

- Combat was changed to something more suitable for a console
- The game was made so that you can play it using a gamepad
- There's no save option, you have to use a hotkey
- Health regen

It will sell moderately on PC. It will sell moderately on consles, but better. TW3 will be made for PC and consoles at the same time. Consoles will sell better. TW4 will be for consoles, with a PC port.

There will be normal save from menu option in the final game. Plus, there will be no health regeneration, unless you drink a potion (those vigour skills regen your mana/stamina, health is called vitality).

What game are you talking about? I'm asking because the TW2 is not like this.
