How's playing without quest markers? Ever get the feeling a quest was designed around the assumption the player would have icons to guide him, therefore leaving you to search for *whatever* unnecessarily blind? Like maybe a guy asks you to check out some ruins he tried to explore but couldn't because there were monsters but he gives no directions and there's no option to ask for them even though there logically should (the guy would have to know where they are) because the designer has assumed the player would just use the quest compass. Scenarios like this is what I worry about cropping up when I see these helper features alongside "don't worry, they can be switched off".
Witcher 2 did not suffer from this. Even though it included (non-toggleable IIRC) quest markers, quest givers still gave completely followable directions to the point the markers were unnecessary except perhaps when going back to a quest you learned about much earlier, and had therefore had forgotten the directions. Hopefully this bodes well for 3.
And again - you DON'T have to use the witcher sense and follow the clues all the time. Sure, sometimes it's neeeded to progress the quest but I feel in many cases you actually don't have to go through the whole quest chain. Oftentimes you can arrive to conclusions by exploring and paying attention and simply skip a lot of quest updates.
Shouldnt GoG Galaxy apply the patch automatically?
13th century. black guys weren't invented yet.guys i havent seen a black person yet im really scared and hurt by this
Do they? I haven't found any items that give more than +3% bonus so far, how exactly does that overshadow my current + 40% to physical attacks? Then you realize that gear stats overshadow the %gain from attribute points. And that gear is plentiful.

got a bunch of brofists from obvious fanboys, but be honest and mention that assassin's creed was playable. you could actually control your character with your controls.People who are saying it's good need to qualify their reviews saying whether or not they liked W2... so I know to disregard their opinions.
If you don't like witcher 2, don't like assassin creed/skyrim kind of gameplay, what are you doing here ? You expect some sort of miracle ? At midnight the popamole will turn out to be a turn based tactical rpg , like in faery tales:!
it took you 4 gameplay hours to realize DA:I was shit and now you're 20+ hours in Twitcher and you mistake an action game for an adventure game? wtf are you doing on this forum? So after 20+ hours in, I can safely say that I genuinely enjoy the game.
It has tons of glitches, bad AI, bad controls, bad interface ( playing on PC with M & K ), and sometimes when you wander you start quests and kind of mess up the order of some events, but overall the game is fun.
I think a good part of the reason I'm having fun with it is that quests are pretty well written and done. I gave up Dragon Age Inquisition after 4 hours, cause the "go fetch 10 skins" quests pissed me off. There aren't many of those in Witcher 3.
It's a bit light in terms of RPG; not many skills to choose from, and the combat is pretty simplistic. Not many spells either. So I pretend that it's more like an adventure game with RPG elements. As an RPG it's obviously bad, but as an adventure game I find it pretty fun.
I still prefer blobbers like Grimrock 2 though.
why do you keep playing?'k turned off the question marks now. Pretty sure exploration will be among the best of the genre now
Time for some actual flaws.
- game was designed for controllers, movement seems sluggish
- UI is quite bad
- crafting is unnecessairly bloated
- item slot limit is just fucking awful. 2 slots for potions? 2 bombs per slot?
i was impressed by the first video. less impressed by the second and the shit kept coming. that was when i realized they didn't want me to play the game. The devs said the main quest is about 30 hours. Well how much time out of that consists out of actual questing and how much of it is riding around and fucking cutscene talking. I found this shit:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gnpkAJmle7k
According to that there's around 11 hours of cutscenes/talking in the main quest alone, I find that...impressive.
Sure, you saying i should lower my standards for AAA?
Thats called nitpiking, not hating. Theres a difference. That or some retarded newfag.
No idea, still gauging if its worth playing or not. compromises do tend to make games boring, banal experiences, they wouldnt be called compromises if they didnt make one part suffer in exchange for something else, in most AAA games, its quality in exchange for a bigger audience. This is only natural, but i do believe a talented team can make it work, or ignore said compromises and bring forth a good game that will sell millions regardless, this isnt very common tho.

Yep. At first I thought TW3 is another one of those typical open world flower picking games (which I fucking hate), but it turns out that you don't need many plants at all.1) OMG i'm harvesting plants all the time, this game is shit!
Wat? Why the fuck do you do that then? Gather them when they're needed, it's that simple. You don't have to use them to refill poitons, so you don't really need a lot. Unless you're a compulsive kleptomaniac, but that's your problem then.
I'm really digging the writing, story and lore. CDPR really outdid themselves. :D

This (except for the bloated crafting, how do you mean?)
