Wrong, this game has very little in common with The Witcher 2. Much closer to Witcher 1/ Gothic 2 with it's own style. After 5 hours I think that's what Piranha Bytes wanted to do with Gothic 3, but failed.

Yeah did that after taking that screenshot, but the empty space by the edges still annoys me. All the GUI elements should be right in the very corners.

Good news, everyone. The game does indeed run on my old below-minimum rig, and not too badly. 1080p with medium settings (which, if internet experts are to be believed, is indistinguishable form ultra) at a very cinematic 24fps. CDPR and AMD save PC gaming yet again.

Still, I'll need a new GPU anyway sometime soon so might as well hold off playing for a while. Game would do well with some more Polish in the meantime. Already there's a camera mod in the works to fix the FOV and allow farther zoom, and the controls feel kinda sluggish, akin to DS.

In my defense, I just get a little annoyed sometimes with the knee-jerk "Obviously this game is terrible" reactions. Yeah, yeah. "This is the Codec," "Don't feed the trolls," ands all that. I did actually lurk a small amount before joining, believe it or not. I just had a moment of weakness.

EDIT: Typo led to spelling Codex as Codec. I am leaving it for posterity, that all might know my shame.

Runs at medium capped at 30 frames on my stop-gap 260x. put the textures on high and using HBAO+.

Amazing what £60 quids worth of GPU can get you these days.

Also nvidia showing what a piece of shit company they are by neglecting Kepler. "Good drivers" brehs.

Just sharing some tech info for those of you who, like me, are stuck with an obsolete piece of junk for a PC. The game runs on my machine, fairly well, at medium (Athlon 64 2.90Ghz, 8GB ram, nVidia GTX650). Now, I can sit back and wait for a patch or two to be released.

Sitrep. 3 hours in, this game is storyfag fap heavan. The production quality is through the roof. Voice acting, writing great. Music fucking stellar. Seems like those damn potatoes have put half of their GDP in this thing.

I'm extremely impressed so far, the only two gripes are - controlling Geralt is a bit awkward, especially in tight spaces. It's like the movement controls were optimized for a controlled or something I don't know. Oh and this game is RAPING my 7950. Damn thing hums like a vacuum cleaner.

EDIT: Oh and one thing - this game does NOT look better than Witcher 2.
