Yeah, especially 'cause I killed Junior

Got a question about Dudu and Mende

I assume the confrontation in the baracks always end with a massacre and Triss setting things on fire? Since Geralt plan to save Dandelion relies on Mende being dead

Yeah, it always end in bloodshed, only thing changes is the info you get (where Djikstra's gold is) and who kills Mende.

Yeah, especially 'cause I killed Junior

Did you ? :smug:

Literally stopped doing witcher contracts and sidequests given by random no-names(did those from Yen and Crach) after making it to skellige.

Seriously, too many sidequests can fuck up the pacing of a storyfag game at times.

Couldn't even be arsed to finish up my gwent deck.

But I kept a few save slots here and there before
finding Ciri
so I guess if I'm feeling bored in the future I can just load up the game and hunt a monster or two.

On my first playthrough Skellige went like this:

- Went straight to Kaer Trolde to see Yennefer and establish a base of operations, went to the wake the same evening
- Got the quest to go investigate the area of the magic explosion, saw that it was a level 13 (?) quest, i.e. several levels lower than the level recommendation for the boat trip to Skellige
- Thought that it'd be stupid to do too much stuff and overlevel myself for said quest, so I went directly to meet Yennefer again, only stopping to do side quests in the villages that were on the way
- Did the quest that took about 5 minutes, got a new one to go investigate a nearby island
- Seeing how there was no real reason to go to any other direction as the next main quest was nearby and I was in the middle of nowhere, I decided to minimize pointless travelling, took the nearest boat and sailed to the island to see Yennefer again after briefly visiting the nearby druids
- Met Yennefer, did the quest, and... completed the whole Skellige quest chain. Goddammit.

Didn't even touch the side quests about Crach's children yet, or do Lambert's quest or really explore Skellige at all except for a really small patch of Ard Skellig. It was kind of tiring to do most of the exploration afterwards when you had no real reason to stick around anymore, and I got a minor burnout from all the sailing that followed. I could've done some of the exploration later on, but I wasn't sure if I'd even get the chance or if I'd be severely overleveled by then, so ended up doing most of it on one go.

While the honeymoon period of this game was really enjoyable for me, after having slogged through what I believe to be the last of the Novigrad "bigger" quests, I'm kinda fed up with the game. And I haven't even touched a lot of the side content in Velen overall (tons of Gwent shit, fights, races and monster contracts left).

Is it worth it to keep going to Skellige for the story stuff (I'd probably skip a lot of the side content there as well)? I enjoyed that stuff up until I burned out with the Novigrad quests.

Enjoy the Revolution! Another revolution around the sun that is.

Everyone burns out in Novigrad, it's a terrible place full of stupid boring quests. And everyone is invigorated by going to Skellige. It's a complete change of pace, no longer a grimdark Slavic mythos atmosphere but more straightforward RRRRAAAAH Viking fare. And there's no writing decline btw, Skellige quests and writing is still superb. Also if you thought the game is pretty in Velen wait for Skellige. Can't beat mountain scenery man.

Yeah that's a pretty stupid design blunder. I think I found lvl 10 quest in Skellige. I mean ffs CDPR.

Debatable. Skellige is a breath of fresh air in terms of scenery, VIkings, etc., but the basic trudging you do doesn't change. The main quest stuff you do there tends to be much more boring (sit on a boat while Yennefer talks. Dive down and swim for 5 minutes to find a boat. Yennefer says wrong boat. Do this 2 more times. Hold up a magic mask Yennefer gives you. Go to predetermined spot. Watch a 2 second hallucination. LIsten to Yennefer talk. Repeat ad nauseum). There's not as much exploration to be done due to the small islands structure.

There's a lot of cool moments scattered throughout various main/sidequests up until Kaer Morhen, so depends on whether you think it's worth it if you're getting tired. I know I slogged to see the end but I'm not going back anytime soon.

Shit! Is this a bug? Do I really have to load a save from before this hole questline? :/
Novigrad ->
I switched between finding Dijkstras treasure and fndinng Junior. When I was at Henckels house. Dijkstra showed up with Triss etc.
After that, I did some other stuff, before I pre-finished the whole Junior-thing up until the point where I should speak with Dijkstra to tell him about the Junior<->Radovid mingling.
Now, when I select the quest, there is no such thing as a marker to show me where Dijkstra might be, which is odd. I looked for him at the bath house and at Henckels house, but he was nowhere.
Now please tell me there is another solution to find him then to make this hole stuff again.

[Edit]
Okay, problem solved!
Just had to advance in the treasure-quest until Dijkstra appears again. After that I could talk to him again.

Ok, this murder mystery quest is kinda cool.
It helps that I feel like there are real stakes in the story, the player knows
Priscilla
and has grown attached to her.

I thought that quest was mostly a case of a lot of wasted potential. It has some nice ideas and imagery but the execution is pretty damn boring.

The murder mystery quest was stupid. What kind of a clown murderer leaves notes with the names of his next victim on his current victim before he even kills them.

After finishing eh, I guess. Kinda meh that it doesn't matter how much you rightfully guessed during the investigative part.

Anyway, onward to Skellige!

Some witcher contracts are so fucking dull. Like, this one where they ask me to investigate DROWNERS. The "twist" at the end was that
it wasn't drowners, it was a water hag!

About 8 meters beneath sea level.
Was wondering, anyone here finished the Bloody Baron questline with...

...his wife dead and him and his daughter leaving together? Heard that it's supposed to be possible. Would be cool, especially as there are already quite a few states in which that entire questline can end. They really did some impressive work there. The whole pagan feel with the crones, sacrifices, impoverished peasantry pleading to the monsters and all also really worked.

Must say, I did find it very much enjoyable to discover that exploration isn't just covering all the question marks on the map. There seem to be quite a few places of interest that don't show up on the map until you walk over them or get a quest about them. Even with POI enabled. Discovered some genuine dungeons and some run of the mill monster spawns, places of power and such by just checking out interesting looking parts of the map.

Looking forward to see what they'll do with Cyberpunk. If it's this in that setting I'm already sold. Still, something in me would love to see a setting like this transplanted to Victorian England. Hunt the black dogs on the moor, chase Hyde over the rooftops, smash a guy's teeth in at an illegal fight in a dodgy pub. It would be glorious. Ah, dreams.

My desire to play this has completely died down since reaching Skellige. Did the first two or so main story missions and now it's just... no. Everything feels way too drawn out.

And fuck me if I hate the segments where you're going along with someone in a story mission (Yen in this case), and pause every few feet to fight a monster... then you walk... and then you fight another monster... and then you walk again. Argh, ffs. Just get to the point already.

Oh boy, I do love getting "epik" armors from quest that I can't equip because of level requirement!

Seriously, fuck whoever came up with this retarded mechanic in RPG. :x
