Also, pretty much all the descriptions of Arabs visiting Mali mention their medicine being shit, the absolute worst in the entire Muslim world.
Sounds interesting, who said that?
I recall Ibn Battuta saying bad things about healthcare in Mali, looking through his accounts right now.

The first thing I found is him saying that the food they eat there makes white people sick, only the local blacks can stomach it:

View attachment 60394
That sounds more like food poisoning than bad healthcare (unless they poisoned him on purpose, implying medicinal knowledge). Alas your other quotes have even less to do with Malian doctors. :?

He considers their culture rather quaint and barbaric in some aspects:
View attachment 60395
That was more interesting, and always on topic. :incline: Obviously a wealthy traveller like Dr Musa would have brought pretty nude servant girls (or at least a night nurse) with him from Mali.

Also a funny story about neighboring cannibal tribes:
View attachment 60397
View attachment 60398
"The reason why the heathens did not eat him was that he was white, for they say that the white is indigestible because he is not “ripe”, whereas the black man is “ripe” in their opinion."

Sounds like joking to be honest. But since both cannibalism and false claims of it are known from all over the world we can't rule anything it out.

A king who gifts women to cannibals in the full knowledge they will be eaten doesn't strike me as particularly civilized.
Indeed why would a mighty Islamic ruler tolerate visiting heathens acting like that? Especially considering that (page 329):

"The negroes possess some admirable qualities. They act seldom unjust, and have a greater abhorrence of injustice than any other people. Their sultan shows no mercy to anyone who is guilty of the least act of it. There is complete security in their country. Neither traveller nor inhabitant in it has anything to fear from robbers or men of violence."

Lots of context missing here obviously, or maybe some of Ibn Battuta's writings are indeed "work of fiction": https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ibn_Battuta#Historicity

Supposedly Mali is very rich in resources including Gold and Limestone.

Limestone is an exception building material: https://www.regattaexports.com/famous-buildings-that-are-made-using-limestone/
They could have built magnificant structures. So I question how well the excuse of insufficent resources holds up.
Even Egyptian pyramids were built mostly of mud brick during the Middle Kingdom (with just a thin layer of limestone on the outside), so it seems like a cost-efficient building material if you don't need your buildings to last thousands of years. Maybe Malians considered stone overkill, especially if there was no threat of siege machines from hostile armies. But it's still odd that they didn't want to imitate Egyptian architecture out of vanity, clearly they could have afforded skilled Egyptian workers if needed. Perhaps Malians were simply not that interested in stone architecture, just like the Vikings.

2000 ships lol. Suddenly I have an hypothesis that the "wealthiest man in history" legend comes from him irresponsibly giving away gold during his hajj and impressing arabs with tall tales.

in true Kang fashion he likely just murdered his predecessor and rivals.
I don't believe that part either, even the first expedition's 200 ships (more likely large canoes) seems like a stretch. But why would Mansa Musa come up with such a fantastic explanation of how he siezed power? Was he hinting that his predecessor might one day return with his 2000 ships, to prevent the ruler of Egypt from considering hostilities?

Wikipedia does mention the Canary current though, which is used to this day by sailors to make the Atlantic crossing to America easier, so under favorable weather conditions maybe an expedition could have survived a one-way trip? Then there's this part:

claims of King John II of Portugal that "canoes had been found which set out from the coast of Guinea [West Africa] and sailed to the west with merchandise"

If these canoes were found close to Portugal (where they?), it sounds like they must have followed the North Atlantic Gyre to America and then back to Portugal, apparently still containing merchandise (but no crew)? The Canary current seem to have prevented them from going straight north towards Portugal along the African coast. Alas I haven't found any other online source of this quote.

From Vavra himself:

"Musa came to Bohemia with an invading army as a member of the royal court of King Sigismund, whom he met thanks to his engagement at the court of Sultan Bayezid. He's an educated noble and renaissance man from the Kingdom of Mali."

Game is cooked.

So, some Saudi gaming journo made a claim based on a rumor, and half of the Codex already commenced with pearl clutching.
You can't even pretend to be surprised.
Being generally retarded and overreacting is becoming more or less the national sport on this board.

It's always been somewhat fun over the years to mock the so called "lefties" for their tendency to "eat their own" with their increasingly-escalating purity tests; to observe how they keep filtering each other out of their inner circles.
Then you have episodes like this as a strong reminder that delusional mongoloids with a passion for outrage that runs circles around the one for logical thinking exist on either side of the so called culture war.

Vavra could easily stop it all.. silence is damning..
No, he couldn't.
You people are being literally retarded and at this point can't see a meter ahead of you.

Let's say for the sake of argument that there IS going to be a "gay sex" scene in the game (we'll overlook the obvious bullshit about being unskippable) and it's a scene where the people involved are framed as ridiculous or disgusting or deplorable...
What do you expect Vavra should say to the press or to his audience? "Don't worry people, there is gay sex BUT WE MADE THEM LOOK BAD so it's ok!".
Of course he's going to be vague about the topic and just say "Calm down, it's not what you think it is".

I can't wait to go on a same-sex adventure on February 4th. Will you guys go with a top or a bottom build first? I've heard it's hard to pull off a hybrid class, not enough skill points to go around.
