And only one is not a shitty designer like Avellone and Sawyer

Maybe Cain will teach those retards how to write for people that grew up beyond 12 years and design games without stupid dialogues and cutscenes.

So what do you guys expect to change at Obsidian? What quality will their next games have that they previously lacked?

Cool! I wonder if there's any worthwhile project currently in the works there, though.

Word is, they're shooting for Arcanum 2 in a ToEE-like engine.

Oh you.

A Wasteland sequel!
... in the updated AP engine. It will have a lot of bugs and the mainstream will complain that it is a cheap F3 ripoff that's not even moddable...

Not sure what exactly will change... except my jeans, because I just creamed myself.

I knew this was fake, but I let myself believe it for a fleeting moment. It was beautiful... and then it was over
Too good for this world.

EDIT: Hell, just a remake of Arcanum with better combat and graphics with nothing else changed would be awesome.

You mean a spiritual successor to Fountain of Dreams? :smug:

I heard it's a lie and that game never exisited and even if it would exist it would have nothing in common with wasteland. But it's not and therefore it's not.

I wonder if Tim still has that Post Apocalyptic game prototype troika worked on, but no publisher was interested in it....

Could be different now that post apocalypse is "in" -- with the new Fallouts, Rage, Borderlands and other shit.

They could change the music up a bit, too. I wanted to break that god damn violin by the end of the game.

Also, the levelling system could use a little work. Personally, I dislike it when a game lets you invest a ton of points into attributes after character generation. Rebalance attributes (I am looking at you, Dexterity) while they are at it.

But what do I care, it's never going to happen.

All of their games suffered from poor (or rather POPAMOLE) design of game systems. Tim Cain has specifically played that role in the past AFAIK. So maybe we'll get a Troika grade game this time.

I'm sure they will make a perfectly fine FPP/OTS RT console game which will be ported to the PC at some point.

Ok so to be realistic, Arcanum 2 was originally planned to be FP. Best game OE has made in a while is FNV. The they game thought would be the best is AP.

Arcanum is DOOMED.
