Which they have done for Arx Fatalis

Yeah, how about loading the game in certain areas being extremely slow. Is that fixed? Because I played the GOG version and it isn't. In fact, I seem to remember I heard that bug wasn't in the original version.

It's fine for me. Apparently it's pot luck tho if you have an nvidia driver that likes Arx.

That's an improvement of the pre GoG version which was completely fucked up on any nvidia card after the 7 series.

Love this shit. Companies obfuscated their code so much, fired and shat on so many of their employers, didn't care about past releases so much (probably lost the source code already), that they don't know how to remove drm without a hacker's help.

:thumbsup:

How does it compare to Knights of the Chalice?

It's pretty much KofCH with much better graphics, more setting believeability, more classes. Unfortunately without the Co8 patch the level cap is 10.

Hence, if you decide to play it I urge you to install the mod even on your first playthrough.

Don't forget to mention the vastly inferior encounter design, specifically, TOEE rarely throws you up against interesting enemy forces which have magic users, clerics, archers and melee.

Instead it prefers repetitive encounters with 20 melee only bugbears

That's why you install Co8 New Content. The magick + warrior encounters are still rarer in comparison but I found them somewhat more interesting.

Don't forget about larger party and extra joineable characters.

@Annonchinil

Lengthwise, KotC is still longer. On the other hand ToEE has 9 opening vignettes. I would say KotC is a little bit better gameplay wise but ToEE wins with it with higher production values.

Thanks for the help, I am leaning more towards ToEE simply because its cheaper and if I do not like it there is less money wasted.
