To the contrary, it is GOOD for business. They've been baiting "alt-right" gamers and leftist extremists against each other for decades now, and like retards most fall for the bait. It pretty much guarantees success.
Getting both sides mad at you at the same time doesn't result in success.
Nothing results in much success any more. They're not selling you a product, they're selling you a narrative life style.

How does a random issue affect only those posters and not anything else in the game ?

There have been countless other texture glitches caused by patches that only autists notice. When the same random thing happens to sexy stuff, everyone notices.

Lol, didn’t someone discover recently that they have been using cheap burned discs for their releases instead of actually having them pressed?

Anyways, never buy anything from those woke morons.

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
I dunno how Crystal Dynamics could play through that and assume that the game is uncritically on Lara's side or making any kind of statement in favour of destroying priceless historical artifacts (which they puzzlingly call "colonialism" even though Lara's definitely not acting on behalf of the British government, given that she kills British citizens and wrecks state property).
That's the joke, Crystal Dynamics probably never played through the classic TR games (too difficult).

It's not at the same time.

Also, history shows otherwise. Every single controversial game sold either well enough, or extremely well. The opposite to that is invisible games that nobody cared about and tanked.

One of the fastest ways for any company to generate publicity and sales is with controversial content. Controversy is a seed that can quickly breed publicity in an exponential fashion. That’s because as the controversial story gains popularity, more journalists and media companies seem to write about and replay the story.

If gamers and journos weren't retarded and had standards, it wouldn't work. But alas...

Hopefully no shit-pushers are reading this. I am giving away factual nuggets of wisdom as usual.

Who wants a physical edition of a game that's included in unpatched form on the disc. They're still going to release at least one patch for these, and I seriously doubt that the disc version includes an updated version of the game, or even the patch installers. You can download the latest patch and back it up, but still the only reasons to buy these tat-editions is the tat itself, and the possibility of scalping some idiot with it later. That, and making your nerd cave's "book"cases look grander.

Their current crop of devs probably haven't. They've been raised by casual console filth, that is the common baseline for most american devs now.

They can really only do that for PC games, consoles can't play burned discs without being modded. It seems the PC release is using a USB stick. It seems, because nobody sane is spending $199.99 for all that tat.

If anyone there ever played any entries in the series, they only played part of the first level and they didn't understand any of it.

Contrary to popular belief DVD-R and CD-R are actually a reliable and long-lasting format according to most archival authorities worldwide, if it's done properly with good discs. Still has to be checked for integrity though. Pressing is cheaper if it's done in over 1k or 2k units.

Yeah, it's a sturdy medium. I have CD's full of pirated games from 25 years ago that are still perfectly readable.

Patch 3 is available now for Tomb Raider I-III Remastered on all platforms!

Patch Notes

All Games
  • Customize your outfit at anytime with the newly added outfit selector
    • Outfit selector unlocks after beating each game (I, II, or III)
    • All outfits from all 3 games can be selected
    • Add the red sunglasses for extra slay
  • Using a hotkey does not interrupt running or walking when using a thumbstick
  • Various improvements to SFX have been made across all three games.
  • Improved combat in Modern Controls in all three games
  • Improvements to the Lara model have been implemented
  • Added the missing water caustic effects to TR1 and TR2
  • Fixed the issue with modern controls showing the sky when the camera goes through corners
  • Fixed an issue where Greek translations would show up too wide in some of the menus
  • Various improvements have been made to fire FX across all three games
  • Fixed game selection icons for UK players
  • Added quick save/reload hotkeys for controller players
Tomb Raider 1
  • Fixed incorrectly positioned snow in the “Caves” level
  • Fixed an issue where bats would sometimes flicker upon death in TR1
Tomb Raider 2
  • Fixed an issue where the wrong texture was being used on the snowmobile in “The Cold War” level in TR2
  • Fixed an issue in TR2 where part of the geometry was protruding into the level in “40 Fathoms"
  • Added explosion FX for “Bartoli’s Hideout” in TR2
Tomb Raider 3
  • Posters of Lara Croft in “Sleeping with the Fishes” are now appearing in HD mode
  • Fixed the positioning of the Indra Key in the “Jungle” level
  • Improved water color in “River Ganges” level in TR3
  • Monkey bars are now more visible in “High Security Compound” in TR3
  • Added details on all ceiling openings in “Temple Ruins"
  • Fixed a missing window in “Willard’s Lair” in TR3 The Lost Artifact
  • Fixed targeting enemies while crouched in TR3

The patch seems to have broken the transparency effects, made the water too opaque and the sunglasses are now gated behind the irritating NG+ :argh:

Jesus these tools are incompetent. They even added Lara's TR3 moves to TR1 and TR2 so that the noobs wouldn't be confused by the lack of consistency between games. It's like they have no real philosophy at all as far as remastering goes, they just blindly give the loudest and most moronic of fans what they want most. "Wouldn't it be cool if-" doesn't belong in it, you don't focus your attention on fluff like the outfit selector, at least not this early a point. You elevate what was always there through graphics updates and whatnot, and fix the original bugs. You don't violate the level designs by introducing new movesets that impact the gameplay balance. You shouldn't expect more from a bunch of excitable fans and modders behind a remaster, but even under the circumstances this is disappointing. These three look amazing in most places, but they would look even better if the remastering team was more focused on what's essential.

As far as big mistakes go, including the classic graphics mode was a huge one, one that they now have to hone along with the remastered one. I mean, what the fuck? Why not just leave all that blocky pixelized stuff behind where it belongs, to the existing original releases? It all seems like it was done just to polish their laurels, to make the modern graphics mode look better in comparison. Without this baggage, they could focus more of their attention on the important things. You know, the remastered versions of these three...
