On May 9, the Total War team released a statement via their social networks. This details the Roadmap in terms of updates and DLCs (additional content) for the next 12 months for the game Total War Warhammer III .

We can see through this Roadmap that the first paid DLC to come is called Shadows of Change . Although this one is supposed to release in the summer of 2023, no official release date has yet been announced.

It can be seen that the Shadows of Change DLC will add 3 legendary lords for the Tzeentch , Grand Cathay and Kislev races , one for each race, as well as a legendary hero . It will also add combat units for the previously mentioned races.

On July 29, Creative Assembly revealed the identity of one of the 3 legendary lords who will accompany the release of the DLC. This is Yuan Bo, legendary lord of the Grand Cathay race .

1. Legendary Lords :

• The Changeling will be the legendary lord of the Tzeentch race . Able to assume the form of any legendary figure, from the noblest to the most fearsome, no one except perhaps Tzeentch himself knows the Changeling's true form!
• Yuan Bo, the Jade Dragon will be the legendary lord of the Grand Cathay race . Bidding between its human form and its dragon form, the Jade Dragon can be a devastating single-target destroyer and a powerful spellcaster with the lores of Light, Yin, and Sky magick. Soar above the battlefield as a dragon, scorching even the strongest enemy units, or take the fight to the ground with game-changing spells at your side.
• Mother Ostankya ( Mother Ostankya ) will be the legendary lord of the Kislev race . A powerful sorceress with a bespoke melee component, Mother Ostankya wields her cauldron on and off the battlefield, able to rain down spirits on her enemies from a distance or grow spider legs in melee combat as a hybrid artillery-carriage.

• Les Scribes Bleus ( The Blue Scribes ) will be the legendary heroes of the Tzeentch race .

I don't see a timeline in which CA stop shitting out shamelessly overpriced DLCs and start fixing all the old races that desperately need it. There are actually very few races that are up to par at this point. They are either borderline unplayable and/or bugged up the butt or so overpowered they are mind-numbingly boring. Skaven, Tomb Kings and the Greenskins are probably the only decent ones and even they have some issues. But I don't think this game will ever become enjoyable without heavy modding, even if they fix up the races. The underlying mechanics are too much of a mess for that.

The Changeling looks like he will be either horribly broken or rather underwhelming, based on how finetuned his campaign mechanics are. The Blue Scribes are full of flavor, but because of how their casting works they might not be very good either.
