Oblivion is the best example of why level scaling and sponge enemies are bad.
Seriously. Enemies with 500+ hp in a game where your fully mastered martial axe can deal damage around 20s not considering armor is so awful...
Oblivions level scaling is fine when you play the game on normal and use the level up system in a normal way (main stats as mostly used stats and sleep when level up available). So if you play like a normie. On harder difficulties the sponge just blooms and it becomes a cheese fest, and when you do anything creative with the level system it breaks six ways to sunday.

Blivion was bullshit with health inflation but the quests and general setting made up for it
By default it was on hard mode
This incentivised you to play like a sneaker which is the best part of the game quest and faction wise
It's also my first elden ring game
Yea morrowing is great and all but it has shit tier flow in the beginning and the quests arent as good imo, it didnt satisfy me as a sneaker, sure it has better dungeons and better loot and itemization and balance in terms of leveling, if you're an ice age boomer it was probably the best game youd ever played
