Hmm, looks dangerously the same as PoE. Still can't bring myself to continue playing it after killing the Mad King or whatever his name is in the huge ass castle. Bland balanc'y nature of it sucks all the fun out (and i have zero cyphers so i can't just faceroll through)

Roguey was probably thinking of The Witcher 1, which used the modified IE from NWN.

I don't think aurora has anything common with IE, and TW1 engine was basically 100% refactored because Bioware cannot into proper coding

It's not. They used some code but it was mostly for backend shit like file format and such. All gameplay systems, Renderer, UI systems etc etc all completely different.

Still the Infinity Engine. It's 2D and doesn't support rooms-over-rooms. Neither does the Witcher, which also uses the Infinity Engine.

This forum doesn't support room-over-room either. I guess it's using the Infinity Engine then.

And alternatively, one can implement room-over-room in the Infinity Engine. I guess it would magically cease to be IE at this point, it would suddenly become a completely different engine. But it doesn't cease to be IE when all other subsystems are scrapped and rewritten. Any idea why?

A Beautifully Desolate Campaign Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire Pathfinder: Kingmaker Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.

Given the amount clusterfuck confused verbal combat with no pause nor strategy one can see around here, I think you are onto something.

As soon as Witcher 2 moved to the Red Engine and Dragon Age moved to the Frostbite engine, they designed room-over-room terrain. How curious that they did not do this before, almost as if they were forced to work with ancient pre-Quake limitations. :M
