Paradox stands to make more from dlc than any console release.

This is one of those instances where I don't mind obsidian releasing a lot of extra content post release. Has anyone involves said anything about this?

GameBanshee interview:

GB: In the event that you develop any DLC or expansions for Tyranny, what areas of the game would you like to expand upon? If the game is a big success, would your publishing arrangements with Paradox Interactive put you in a good position to develop a sequel?

Brian: I’ve been living in the world of Tyranny for over two years now, and there’s a ton that I would want to explore further. More than we could do for any single DLC or expansion. The game is set in one corner of Kyros’ Empire. If it’s successful, I would love the opportunity to explore deeper into the Empire, showing how the world is shaped by Kyros’ laws, the Archons, and the Fatebinders.

The smaller amount of inventory slots and party members can be explained by simple budget limitations, because it's a game made by a relatively small team and they probably wanted to focus more mutually exclusive choices that affect gameplay.

Josh has said that when it comes to rtwp he much prefers 4 or 5 to 6 and only went with 6 in PoE because of Infinity Engine nostalgia.

Just realized something about magic : fire and illusion are definitely available later on, but not available at character creation. The Scarlet Chorus and Disfavored seem specialized in Fire and Earth respectively, so I'm guessing we can learn the sigils from them.

I find that the amount of equipment slots doesn't really matter IF said equipment only increases stats. Stat increases from multiple pieces of equipment can just be rolled into one piece of equipment.

Equipment with gameplay effects are another story entirely but will this game feature such things?

Fuck that, I miss the days of multiple equipable bracers and shit in RPGs.

Took less than a second for me to want to kill the host. Might be a new record.

BTW this is the only Tyranny interview I've seen published during Gamescom. I wonder if these guys are breaking NDA. +M

Brian says he's going to be working on bugfixing and balancing "for the next month or so". Accidental release date reveal?

Also says they're talking to Paradox about expansions or DLC.

Confirmed that the next dev diary update will be about the spellcrafting system. They're showing that to the journalists, so it'll probably also be a topic of their post-Gamescom previews.

They already revealed that character (a female beastman), but this is, as far as I know, the first time that Eb was mentioned as a companion.

Found a reason why Tyranny looks so much like DA2. +M

I think Kirby's still sour over that time I linked to her personal blog here and she had to delete it. I only regret the direct link, her comments about games were fair game.

Anyway I always liked psdo from what I vaguely remember about her from the BSN. Tyranny is in good artistic hands. :shittydog:

I wish we could see omgshri's tweets.

I like Lindsey's portraits and she's amusingly foul-mouthed. Hey, if you're reading this, feel free to unlurk!
