It's a modern fork of DosBox with some pretty cool features. I believe Rincewind is part of the development team.

Yeah, I'm involved. Specifically, I was behind 80% of the recent audio related improvements. I can say without exaggeration that DOSBox Staging is *the* most advanced and best DOSBox when it comes to audio (and it's best-of-class or second best in other areas as well).
