The crowdfunding era of crpgs is over. It just produced mediocre games and now it can't even produce that. We are entering the dark age officially again....
It really hasn't. Get away from the Obsidian/InXile/"Old Vets cashing in on Nostalgia" crowd and there's a lot of gems. The trick is it requires a bit more attention to catch them because they're such low profile. But since you're looking for good times, I'm sure that'll be trivial.
Wich gems recently ? I'd be more than happy to back real indie games, but their visibility is so low its almost impossible to find them.

Finally finished it. God what a......I have no words, I don't know what I played, a game, a concept of a game, a demo idk. This makes Bethesda games seem polished, yeah, it's that bugged. By now you've seen from other sources or experienced yourself so it's pointless repeating everything.

After "defeating" the boss, the screen went black and Cabirus narrated what I assumed was some kind of ending slide, while nothing appeared on screen (maybe a bug, but the again not exactly a novelty for this thing). Some thing about betrayal, how he won't go away, somehow I'm the master of the Abyss now, bla bla some more bla bla and then......nothing. I thought it crashed. It didn't. It just waited for an input.

Credits, main menu, Ng+, 5 extra skill points and 50 coins (so much stuff).

Yeah. Going to replay this after 500 or so patches bring this into alpha state or something assuming of course that OtherSide actually still exists at that point in the future.
Not recommending this even to Marx. Fans of immersive sims, stay away. These are not the people who made the classics.

Arkane Studious don't even have to try to compete with these guys, they win by default.

One thing I liked: the double jump skill (makes traversal so much better and avoid a lot of bugs terrain/geometry/water related) and wall run (prince of Persia nostalgia). That's it.

Razorfist, if you're reading this, I'm obsessed with immersive sims and stealth games (Thief, Splinter Cell especially) as much as you, but dude, your obsession and love for LGS blind you in this case. This is the buggiest game I've played in my life (and I've been playing for 16 years, I know, not much when compared to others but enough to know when or when not to play something or if a game is going to be, well....shit) and comparisons to Witcher 3, Fallout New Vegas, Alpha Protocol and others have nowhere near the amount of bugs this game has and ultimately those games can be modded and fixed to an extent. This game, can't. The bugs in this game are not deep in the code somewhere or hard to see or needing you to do some mumbo jumbo to glitch something, no, these are in your face, diverse and plenty. You can't defend that. Everyone who played this and voiced their negative experiences did so because it's simply too much, but hey we're all living in a parallel reality or something right? We have a saying in my country: when 2 people tell you you're drunk, go and take a nap.

I had hopes about this game, because on video, it shows some promise, but after reading all the negative feedback... Christ. Sometimes I feel bad about not backing a Kickstarter (Pathfinder, Black Geyser), but not this one. What a trainwreck. I think everybody will be better off with just forgetting this existing.

Nah, I felt that the continuity between the original UU and the rest of the Ultima games was pretty strong. Yeah I guess dwarves, talking lizardmen, magic working completely different and some other stuff is off. But most Ultimas contradict and retcon stuff from the previous ones anyway.

But it had a world with strong lore, exploration based gameplay, virtues are in the plot, especially with the whole "cabirus tried to make a virtuous colony" story, everyone talks in "thees and thous", and overall it felt very Ultima-esque. If no one had ever told me it originally had no connection to the Ultima series, I never would have guessed.

we are now in the age of Microsoft, Bethesda, Belgium and Russia
The Great Empire of Belgium will rise to rule the World. There is no doubt about that in my mind.

Isn't this the game the dex was shilling?

Yeah I remember when the front page was a billboard for this rubbish... The same happened prior to PoE 2 launch i.e. the 10/10 "retrospective" of a 2-year old "classic gem" PoE 1

Woe upon ye Incuckitron, ye herald of vile decline!!! :flamesaw::mob:

As for the "speed", that's adjustable in the config file, I have mine set to 3 and -3

How did you adjust the speed in Underworld Exporter? I don't see it in the config.

MouseX
Mouse Y (negative for inverted , which I use)

It seemed to be it also adjusts the move speed, but that could be just the very slow mouse look at 3 making it seem that way.

That doesn't affect the movement speed, and playing with inverted look is dumb, you little bitch.

Does Underworld Exporter actually have any real difference from vanilla UW1 at this point? The movement speed doesn't really feel faster than vanilla's run speed or strafe and backpedal speed.

It has some annoyances.

At first I though the blood stains were mini fires...but that's because they aren't oriented to the floor properly.

Occasionally, "debris" would end up floating in the air.

Trading (or was it bartering) is finicky, the solution is to just keep trying until it is accepted.

The first-person dungeon crawler Underworld Ascendant was probably the game I was most looking forward to this year. So it really breaks my heart to see that its release has been pretty much a catastrophe: Underworld is currently rated "mostly negative" on Steam, and a lowly 2.0 user score on Metacritic—where there are currently no critic reviews at all (we have one in the works). The situation is bad enough that game director Joe Fielder posted a brief, ever-so-slightly desperate-looking development update video promising that the studio is still working on it.

It's not unusual for a crowdfunded indie game to have issues, especially one as ambitious as Underworld Ascendant, but even in that context, that's a lot of ground to cover. But what might be an even greater challenge to overcome is what appears to be widespread indifference to the game and its troubles: 14,000 people backed the Underworld Ascendant Kickstarter, yet the peak concurrent player count on Steam was just 322, according to Steamcharts. It's not currently available on GOG.
