The guy behind Myth Bearer has released a demo of his new game, Deep Rune : https://jc-bailey.itch.io/deep-rune.

I have not played the demo but based on the trailer despite the switch to side scrolling the game seems to be similar, and the description is, by the way, quite similar, with in particular fixed, immobile, enemies, how it works is that you lose some determined hps when hitting them in melee. From what I can remember from Myth Bearer the choice between different characters and equipment durability are new features.

Deep Rune is an open-ended adventure game that seamlessly blends RPG mechanics and puzzle solving, all set in a mysterious world rooted in Norse mythology. Delve into the depths of an ancient underground ruin in search of the Deep Rune, a long-lost relic that is said to grant one the means to ascend to the legendary High Realm. Along the way, you'll need to strategically manage various items, magic, and stats in order to bypass the terrifying creatures that lurk within. Are you prepared to unveil the true nature of the Deep Rune?

Update: Deep Rune's planned release date is Oct 14, 2021. Until then, check out the free demo!
