Anyone remember the amazing Valkyrie Profile on the PSX? I remember the amazing character stories and the ways in which you can earn different endings. I remember uncovering aspects of the hero's back stories and really enjoying the gameplay as well.

Now we have what constitutes as vomit porn, directly from Squeenix's tight little hole and directly into our mouths. How the mighty have fallen!

Hm. Previous game from this developer (Soleil) had very nice combat. Which is something you would expect considering it's Itagaki's ex-Team Ninja crew.

Sure, it didn't reach heights of NGB, but still was a very enjoyable suprise release back then.

So you say, Elysium is much worse, huh? Well, considering Square-Enix made Platinum do Babylon's Fall, everything is possible.

did any of the original valkyrie developers contribute to elysium? I'm guessing no. Squire enix can only make hack and slash ff 15 clones and not rpgs anymore apparently.

Most of what squeenix is shoveling out recently are overpriced low budget shit titles.

Star Ocean: The Divine Force - overpriced shit
Valkyrie Elysium - overpriced shit
Harvestella - overpriced shit

Coming soon:

Forwoken - They're asking $70 for this steaming turd.

No, they worked on Star ocean 6. Valkyrie Elysium has no involvement from Tri-Ace.

50% off on Steam a month after release, for a Square Enix published title. Clearly this sold well.

I fear I don't want to know the answer, but how bad could it be? Tri-Ace's own latest Star Ocean is 30% off as well atm.

I don't know why the reviewer is complaining. It looks like FF12 every FF game made after.

They're quite fairly priced if you go to the right stores. You can get them on sale for 0 shekels if you know where to look.

I'm having fun.

Thanks, might give it a try after all then.
It's a "turn your brain off and smash things" kind of game. Mission based, you get currency that you use to upgrade your character and weapons with new moves. Can't tell you anything about the story because I just skip cutscenes. My main criticism so far is that the missions/maps are too big, and combat can feel kind of stiff because you're locked into a lot of animations.

Enemy variety also seems kind of shit so far, but I'm having fun with the combat. We'll see how long it lasts.

Unfortunately this one isn't even worth removing from inventory, and I say that as a big VP1/2 fan.

It's a sad Devil May Cry clone with AI controlled allies that looks like shit and runs very poorly.

I don't know if the PC version got a demo, but I tried the console version, and it's not a great game, and very low budget. I have played worse stuff, though. It could be that my animosity towards this title is because it plays nothing like a VP game.

I'm playing it and having fun. It's mindless and the gameplay is not very well thought out, but the experience is not unenjoyable because of it.

Might seem okay at first, but it becomes boring quickly thanks to all the recycling and bland levels. It isn't worth buying even for 20 euros and they had to galll to charge full price for it.
