Second half of 2021 is the most optimistic official take.
Bah, that's ages. I thought it was originally slated for end of this year, guess Paradox has a lot of money to burn.

They definitely have phat stacks to burn, seeing as how you need to purchase $500 in DLC's just to unlock the full version of their games. Their usual target demographic consist of autistic spergs with too much disposable income on their hands, and they've made a lot of bucks keeping it that way over the years.

Still I don't remember anything about a girlfriend in the intro I have been shown and why should anybody die in a mass embrace? Also as far as I remember there was talk about recurring characters from Bloodlines but never the Voermans, so this looks like bad fan fiction to me...

Wait... what intro was shown now? If there's a link or it's something you played, would love to see it/hear about it.

Also, what mass embrace are you referring to?

IIRC there was a group of people embraced in some ritual or whatever at the beginning of Bloodlines 2 as thinbloods. The player is supposed to be one of them.

Wesp might have seen something further we haven't due to his standing within the Bloodlines community and could have witnessed the beginning of the game.

I'll sum it up, paraphrasing here and there:

....

- a lot of people got invited into the beta, but the fine is at $30k if they talk, so nobody's talking

Another translation of same comments on net not sure how accurate:

> And you didn't even see the new Masquerade game, they allowed me to see the beta, but... aside of me being beta tester for shittycode of fucking TES online, KOTOR online and even unreleased version of Fable in its time, I've take a look, tried to test it and I was like "what the fuck? It's so bugged". I've pointed out the most important bugs, written it down and gave them to the support and dev team and guess what, they didn't fix them, just screwed that and then moved the release date.

> You want a "living" world? You ll get a fuckin dead one, just like your protagonist. And ooh fuck me, they parasiteon previous game so... what's even funnier are whores you can't suck on without 5 points of humanity, because you can't even make your arousal up and you go fuck yourself, because it seems that code implies that, but they just don't get you any pussy. Cops are wooden (stiff?) and also fuck me, in fact I'm breaking the NDA and they will make me pay a fine if they know, but knowing the rats on 2ch — they will know.

> Fuck, man, did you read my post? TL;DR of the story - you're little mommies semihobo which gets rejected by his girlfriend because you don't have any job and you're a couch potato. Short after breaking up with the girl, the band of crazy thinbloods attacks you (WHAT A FUCKING TWIST) and bites you, fuck, you're the only surviver. The chick from the vids is a muslim, prays allah much and does jihad to infidels, factions are nominal, you can't join them, you are not even a "fixer" type, you're a piss and shit, who is asked to wipe the shit out after the most powerful ones, no one respects you. Clothes are hoboesque, the plot is pretty dulltoo, only the Maniac-guy is cool, he's written like Jackie and Jhonny - charismatic little bastard you want to be friend with. Ai is stupid, no, it's stupid even with comparison to Cyberpunk. I'm waiting the start of the new beta and will try to sign up again. If they didn't fix shit, I'll make a thread. If they do - buy it.

> Jeanette/Therese Voermann. Yes, she is in one quest, you can't fuck her. Malkavians as a class are fucking lost (bad). You better play the tremere.

> Don't say me shit. I had a good feeling about this beta, but when bugs flow one after another... I remember one in particular, lemme say the best bug on earth. During sexy time with a muslim girl, my character fell down through the bed textures, flew through the skies over this house and died after falling to the asphalt. That was epic. So, wait, bitches. Trust my experience, after beta of this shit I feel like cyberpunk is a god-tier game.

> The thing is that the game uses V5 as a base and it's shit. Everyone has bloodmagic, even thinbloods. By it's nature they are blood mages, because they inherit every bit after some clans. What's even worse is that Tremere clan figured out an algorithm in which young thinblood can enter the diablery clan or make a fullblood transfusion. (I don't exactly get what lad is talking about)

> Half of the Tremeree features from the first game are lost, but there are some good things. They really added them magic, you can summon almost everything, you only need victims. You can summon a local armagge-fuckin-don on the street with a rightly createad pentagram and 5-6 victims. On the other hand, that kind of thing draws yout bloodpoints from tremere and therefore they want to eat like crazy. During beta there was not a single our without maximum hunger and feeding on every hobo I could get to.

>If you're fine with dialogues like:

>"Cross: would you like a dick?
>You, as an MC: yes"

>Then you'll be happy. So far the voiceover was only in english, but dialogues are "childhood tarantino"-tier.

>If you didn't play the first game or read any rulebooks you can lost in the character's logic. Many of nonimportant NPC's don't have logic at all, like, they tell you for 3 hours how they can't kill anybody, because they gave an oath and now they only feed on rats, because they've rad Twighlight (what???) and after 5 minutes they fucking splatter the police spec ops with a wooden board and burn them to the fuck's mother.

>It's a big-big secret. You should write them (not me). They called people to test their game while they had a free time. They took me for a 2 months, some peeps wowrked for a half of year and I fuckin know they are hear, they're just afraid of 30 k bucks sanctions.

Journos got to see the beginning of the game way back when it was announced last year. There were a bunch of previews: https://rpgcodex.net/article.php?id=11122

Indeed, and this was shown to me even before the game was announced :). I never understood why Paradox didn't release videos of it to the public after the press had discussed it already and new content was obviously missing. It clashes with several points of the alleged beta tester, unless they changed it completely...

It wouldn't be the first time that press have been suckered in to write deceptive puff pieces based upon a lengthy load of bullshot. That generated a lot of pre-orders, which has since uh... changed.

It clashes with several points of the alleged beta tester, unless they changed it completely...

I think that's a safe bet with how many times the dev team has been changed completely via employee turnover, now to the point they're having to hire on the sub-par snowflake circlejerks. To extend my barrel analogy about Valve, HSL have been digging through the loam into the landfill: Mass Effect: Andromeda writer, ATLAS (the game, not the company) lead designer, Ubisoft wrap-up specialist, all while a Lead Game (RPG) Designer position remains vacant. Etc. etc.

And we're expecting them to do better than Otherside Entertainment who couldn't even UU3? :hahano:

Wesp was given an early (in-person, I think?) sneak peek. Don't think footage ever made it to the internet.

"Burn them to the fuck's mother" is my new battlecry.

Since you can't discuss the game itself (although this is helpful), can you describe your general emotional state 5 min before playing/shown the Bloodlines 2 material, and then compare it to your emotional state right after the demo/video was done? We don't even have to discuss the game, just your... feels. All of them. Come on. Give them to me.

Or just rate your pain on a scale of 1 to 10

I vaguely recall him being fairly positive about it in the aftermath, honestly. But I think people in general were a lot more positive back then (shortly after it was announced).

I was in fact positively surprised! Remember that this was long ago before Mitsoda and the others were fired. The intro was similar to Bloodlines, more or less a sequence of cutscenes that showed the mass embrace, you being caught and brought in front of the vampire council of Seattle. Then all hell broke loose when fire shook the building and you had to flee. Which was the tutorial. You ended up at the pier which had a fantastic atmosphere, met another thin blood that was killed right before your eyes and took over his flat where you met Dale. Especially the dialogue with the latter had all the wits and fun of Mitsoda and I liked it and the character very much!

Was that other thinblood also turned during the Mass Embrace?

Was Jeanette one of the council?

Am trying to find out what Ellison was on about with her writingz and how verified-checkmark the beta tester's comments are.

So I'm not a modder, but are Hardsuit planning to make Bloodlines 2 truly moddable, or is it more an issue with what the Unreal engine allows?

I've lost track of what they've promised/not promised, but I figured you'd be one of the best people to ask.

Also, kudos on all the work you did on Bloodlines 1, I wasn't aware of exactly how much until I went researching. Thank you!

I doubt that's high on their priotities list now, even if it would allow gamers wesp to fix what they couldn't bother to.
