dtp's RPG Venetica, developed by Deck 13 (Ankh, Jack Keane), is a visually stunning RPG with a cryptic storyline, mixing emotions and action in a unique free roaming and living sixteenth century world full of surprise... blah blah blah... read more about the game here:

(blahblah) the most recent council had unwittingly selected a crafty necromancer who is determined on bringing death and destruction to the world.
Cliché to the max...

Only one person stands in his way, Scarlett, the daughter of Death.
Cliché to the max...

Up to now she has known nothing of her origins, her powers and the capabilities that she possesses
Not cliché enough?

For fuck's sake, how many times will they try to feed us the same shit over and over again? Oblivion did better at having fresh ideas.

The only thing I liked was the city in the beginning. Otherwise this looks like an action RPG #34482. 90% of that trailer was lame action that didn't even look all that good.

If all of the trailer was in-engine then their renderer and animations are gorgeous. Seems like actual creativity went into character designs, which is refreshing compared to most recent games' drab color palettes.

Too bad they're so fond of the god damned "heroes looking like kids" art style.

What a cool looking game.

Anyway, alot of games keep coming out of Germany, and due to them being from Germany, we simply don't get much information or coverage from the "conventional sites".

So what do the Germans here think of it?

Looks pretty standard to me. Bloom, clean happy medieval streets and a chick wearing a tiny top.

It's Rennaissance, not medieval, which is why I thought it looked cool.

Her clothes would still look ridiculous in a Renaissance city, though. Also, she's Death's daughter or something, right? I'd rather play Susan Sto Helit.

There is a review out on krawall.de giving the game 84%.

To sum the review up:
A good light-RPG. Good presentation of story and characters. Interesting quests. Lovely design. Some bugs.
