Having the 40K license is going to help get more attention than not. But it ain’t like either Warhammer 40K or the game this is a sequel to were big to begin with, they’re both fairly niche properties.

If Saber Interactive had made the same thing, but were not using 40K branded Xenomorph and Starship Troop knockoffs, barring some design catastrophe where everything turned out looking like shit, it’d likely do just as well. People don’t like the game because it’s 40K, they like it because it’s a cool looking game that plays well enough where you’re fighting hordes of enemies and violently cutting them down. With this and Helldivers 2 last years, it’s like developers just remembered the simple pleasure of fighting hordes of enemies...which is kind of weird given tons of characters all on screen at once used to something they used to market video games.

Just like the first one imo. I don't know anyone who likes that thing or rates it above mid and forgettable, other than 40k fanatics.
40k is recently most known unknown popular now, so any teenage geek now goes absolutely bonkers for it because they were raised on soft scifi the minute they taste 40K it’s nectar from the gods.

The first game was a good representation of the setting. Yes, it is a game for fans of 40k, same as TW: Warhammer.
This game doesn't even manage to represent being a Space Marine well.

I like that the idea of a +8' tall demigod sneaking around was so ridiculous that GW decided to retcon the lore and give Alpharius special sneaky powers.

He doesn’t he’s just crazy+constant back up plans with minor warp fuckery, Corvus has literal living shadow powers tho

Wait, did I dream the short history were he went against Valdor during training and he could use powers to better hide himself in the crowds?

He probably does have some warp power to confuse people but Corvus and some Raven guard have the ability to just be invisible in full armor too

Has there been any mention of the Horde mode lately?
Dunno I think the devs are scrambling to get resources on the game. Its ironic the game was praised for not being live service slop but people are complaining updates are sparse since its to a game THEY like. Again its always okay when its Warhammer 40k.

Apparently they are making a new road map for the game, I know Sabre were punching above their weight class but they must be punching themselves that they didnt go full live service with this game

The Biovore of all things? The living artillery piece that is supposed to sit in the backlines to rain spore mines on the enemy to provide area denial and pinning the enemy down? The critter that while tough is absolute ass in a melee fight, on par with a single Hormagaunt when fighting a Marine? THAT Biovore?

Should've gone with the Pyrovore instead, at least that thing would've created an interesting new challenge and at least redeemed what's one of the worst units in the Tyranids army list for several editions straight.
