I am so glad I posted that elevator video. A couple of clown emojis thrown in for good measure, and that's how you get pages of DS2 butthurt.

troubled development,
And Mozart fucking died while composing his Requiem
Which is why everything after Lacrimosa is noticeably less talented.

Ah, the famous elevator that somehow takes you upwards to a lava-filled keep, even though the tower clearly only had normal sky above it.
While obviously the reason why that elevator exists in this state is because the game had a rough development, the seeming impossibility of the elevator isn't an issue within the context of the world of DS2, because the game repeatedly conveys that both space and time themselves are degrading and losing their cohesion

The Huntsman's Copse is physically a short walk from Majula but has a completely different time of day and the one vista available from which you should easily see it has no implication of it. Heide's Tower of Flame is under the sea level and specially in the completely wrong spot when looking from Majula. Ignoring even that No-man's Wharf should absolutely be under the sea level.

"I'd like to offer some things that reinforce your point as a refutation." Thank you?

Dark Souls should have switched to doing one-shot modules and dropping souls for a scoring system like tournament D&D was intended to be

the game is fundamentally broken when you can just farm the same mob until you hit level 9999

it would be much better to roll a character and run dungeons until you die and the savegame is deleted

What's the cost to performance?

I don't know since it runs the same for me as it always did. I'm using RTX 3060. People with older GPUs could answer it better. Listed requirement is 1050Ti for 1080p High. I am downsampling from 2880x1620, used to run at 4K before the mod but now that it has temporal aa options there's no need to go that high.

I hate that us Souls fans have to push eachother around and argue and bicker an such. We all got fooled by Gwynevere :(

Regardless of which entry is your favorite you should take pride in being a part of the most perfect run in video game history. Cherish it FS bros, we were there.

I was there before all of you back in 2009. I already had a perfect understanding of the magic that you wouldn't come to know until TWO years later. By that point I knew everything there was to know. Y'all are just fangirl groupies and don't ever question my opinion. By the time you learned what Dark Souls was I had already been through the ring 1000 times. I know which one is best, you soft punks.

Personally I started with King's Field
It is nothing like Demon's Souls. King's Field died.
You have no idea how many things from Souls were introduced in King's Field
There is nothing in Demon's Souls that can be connected to KF beyond the most superficial loose bullshit like "dark" "fantasy" "dungeon" and such. Obviously there's a connection because of the company but the games are nothing a like. Demon's Souls invented a ton of incredible shit that people are now bitching about every day. KF didn't invent anything.

Illusory walls, protostamina system, the need to actually read enemy moves in order to attack in time instead of flailing your weapon like in Daggerfall/Ultime Underworld, proto estus flask system where you could manually feel your flasks (which you first have to find in the world or craft, and you can feel it with different magical liquids, can even fill it with poison in KF4, so Estus system is a stripped down version of that), teleportation between checkpoints (again, Demon's Souls starting level teleportation and Dark Souls's bonfire teleportation feels like a very streamlined and stripped down version of King's Field fast travel), respawning enemies, random enemy drops that can change the way you play, durability system (and katanas, although powerful, are very brittle and need to be repaired frequently, thank god we don't have to wait realtime minutes in order to repair equipment in Souls games, a streamlined system that I actually like, along with upgrading weapons that also needs a material, like in Souls, but also takes place in realtime), player respawn, which lets you to die but the world doesn't reset to the state of the previous save (but it's limited and you must to have a special item in the inventory, another steamlining that I like in Souls), fucking item descriptions that tell more about the world (along with enemy and location description you could get in King's Field 3). Granted, none of it was invented in King's Field first, but it was first made in King's Field by FromSoftware and these games affected the creation of Demon's Souls and still affects them. And yes, I'm not even talking about same imagery about dungeons, same looking enemies, names, tropes and stuff, only focus on mechanics and game design here.
