When did that happen?
About a month ago. Greeks made quality slaves since Roman times so I was moved to a German slave encampment to offer my services leech off their resources and send them with 'Western Union' to Greece. :D

It's not quite the same though, because you don't see those full sentences all displayed together in front of your eyes. They appear only as tooltips to clarify the keywords.

Right, but that just makes the dialogue move more quickly, provided they don't put in too many ambiguous keywords. Because before the tooltips, this:

they're just taking already existing keywords and expanding them out to sentences
was mostly likely the other way around.

holding your mouse over a keyword will show you a preview of the sentence your Rangers will say.
Brother None Can you please ask them to make this a toggle? I'd rather play the game with pure keywords, personally -- not a big deal, just a matter of preference.

I've seen this request here and there. I'll check, but honestly I kind of assume that was the plan already. inXile is pretty dedicated to offering a very wide range of options on the user end for interfacing.

Man, we might have to put up a search bar in the toggle menu just so you can find what you wanna toggle.

What? Why?!

I guess I can be blamed for everything involving inXile from now on, really.

Regardless of the grammar/ sentence structure, this update only adds more excitement and impatience on my part in WANTING THIS GAME! When was the last time we've seen that level of personal customization in terms of the camera and HUD? And the level of "seeming" C&C in dialogue is especially encouraging.* If that is indicative of just the dialogue C&C then I'm a happy W2 "investor."

*I say "seeming" because I want to actually see this in action before I declare it the second coming.
:yeah:

Also: Congratulations Brother None, always knew you'd sell your soul one day. ;)

Seriously though, who wrote those examples?

Not sure. Probably Matt Findley or Brian Fargo.

Lancehead There you go.
Fargo should just keep to managing teams. :D

But seriously, like grotsnik said, I hope they iron out the writing a bit more in the final game.

NWN2 had plenty of camera customisation.

Yeah, this is getting pretty dumb. Can they really afford to give these many options?

That being said, good thing that the camera can be fixed. Much more important than sentence tooltip preview. Seriously, fucking :decline:, Crooked Bee.

Yeah, possible to turn into another "YOU CAN ADJUST THIS CAMERA A BILLION WAYS JUST NOT INTO A WAY THATS PLAYABLE K LOL"

We're still several writing passes out from final, yeah. That's why adding in these full lines isn't such a problem, there's still editing and tweaking work to do anyway. It's not as iterative a process as the rest but it's not like you just hand in writing and then you're done, it's gonna be polished up a lot. And I don't think Bob is an in-game example anyway, though I'm actually not completely sure on that.

Also: Congratulations Brother None, always knew you'd sell your soul one day. ;)
't was inevitable :( I'm just hoping working for inXile gives me an impressive enough resume to move on the my dream job: working for Bethesda.

I don't care about the camera. I have yet to play a game where camera would be a problem for me (and yes, I have played NWN2 and Dungeon Siege 3).

I do, however, much prefer keywords to full dialogue lines.

Well, good, but they'll still have it, just with a preview of the phrase when hovering the mouse over that button. Just seemed like a weird complaint.

CameraDex

KeywordDex hurr durr

Everybody cares about what they care, I guess. Me, I don't want to be the helicopter cameraman who also pilots the helicopter, kthx.

Good! Now do the Shadowrun news, Infi!

I didn't pledge to that and don't really know what's going on there. But I can see now that there's some news there that Crooked Bee won't like.

That was an interesting and informative update, although I don't understand the "meow" instead of "now" running joke and frankly, it fills me with a horror unlike any I've ever known.

The camera defaults to ‘follow mode’, which like many systems in Wasteland 2 can be turned off or on by the player at any time through the settings menu.

You can also override the “auto-follow” by using the arrow or WASD keys to pan the camera around the map.

If you don’t like using keys to move the camera, then don’t worry about it – you will have an option to pan across the map by moving the mouse cursor to the edge of the screen.

even the pan speed is adjustable.

If you don’t like any of these camera options, simply turn them off.

For those that want to look around more, but don’t want to be burdened by a freely rotating camera, we have a mode that rotates the camera in 90 degree increments.

:yeah: :incline:

What's the problem? A search through options is one of the best UX improvements I've seen in software. If everything in the interface is absolutely customizable, it's perfect.

Not sure if I understand you correctly, but I didn't mean searching through options (which I think was a joke on BN's part) but toggle options for every little thing. In theory it sounds cool (hey, everybody gets what they want) but it usually means nobody really gets it. The camera for example. They have rotatable, fixed, fixed angles... will they really be able to make all these work right or would it have been better to focus on only one (which should be fixed camera, obviously, since rotatable can never be done right)?
