He still has a fairly long way to go to get to the ending. Even more if he wants to do some sidequests and/or exploring.

It's a pretty good Lets Play / Bethesda forums trollan so far, but some of the calls are a little overbearingly "hurr"-factor; while obviously there isn't nearly as much detail and effort put into NPCs and the main plotline in F3 as there was in F1/F2, if you nitpick hard enough you can find plenty of crap to make an issue out of in any game.

IE, Start of Fallout 1. A record-breaking start-to-crate (or rather, rat) distance followed by a newbie levelup town that's just conveniently planted perfectly in line to the plot hotspot for your waterchip fetchquest that includes a giant rat killing quest, NPCs that have dialog holes (I don't trust you. Hey, you didn't turn out to be so bad after all.), talk about Mudcrabs and their horrible-ness, or don't know what Shady Sands is. Likewise, the logic-defying stuff featured in the Tandi Kidnapping sidequest.

However you probably won't pay any attention to that stuff because, you know, that's nitpicky shit nobody cares about and the game's not hurt by its' prescence. Then again Fallout 1 isn't Fallout 3.

I can't wait for the next part of this Let's Play. This is CLEARLY the most fun I had with Fallout 3. That’s pretty sad.

wow man. the DLCs overall is shit, shit shit. I tried Anchorage and it was something like Call of Duty: Fallout, with terrible shooting aspect and VATS.

Mothership Zeta is utter shit, alien shooter. I'm glad I had a save game outside the entrance, so I can reload and leave that alone. It's terrible.

Pretty much - Of all of the DLCs I would say the only one I had any satisfaction from was Point Lookout. The others seemed more or less just there to try to make up for stuff Bethesda fucked up (powered armor training, lack of weapon/armor differentiation, point-of-no-return main quest).

About five minutes into taking a look at Zeta I just turned the difficulty down (not to make it easier, but just to make the constant combat faster) and played it like DooM 2 - right down to using nothing but the double barrelled shotgun the whole time. In retrospect this made the game a lot more enjoyable than playing it properly. But still not as good as DooM 2. Which is 20 years old.

Speaking of Point Lookout, why is it a prerequisite that Bethesda put Call of Cthulhu references into every game they make nowdays?

It's not such a bad thing in principle, I suppose, but making an entire addon pack that feels like HP Lovecraft Fanfiction (right down to the elements of crazy cults, crazy science, crazy academic rivalries and crazy run-down southern-style bayou towns with crazy hick innsmouth mutant residents) for the Fallout universe is a little excessive when there was already enough in the shoutout - the Dunwich Building, or whatever it was called.

It's because Bethesda has made a pact with the Great Old Ones. They grant them success even though their games are shit, but Bethesda has to promise to spread their cult by selling the games.

A poor soul the Codex didn't manage to save in time, so sad.

WhiskeyWolf: I seriously wish I had come across this site BEFORE I got it. I have dubbed it the as the one of the worst things I ever brought when people ask me what I think about it.

entertainer: That's pretty much what I do now. I laugh to keep from crying... $80 down the drain. Yes, I was an asshole and brought the Collectors Edition at that. Someone should shoot me just for that alone.

Even Codex can't cure dumbfuckery.

I like it how the most awful games make for such lulzy LP's.

Very well then...

I should have another update done by tomorrow.

You want a side-quest?

Do "Ya Gotta Shoot 'em in the Head". The only one I can think of that requires a bit of effort.

Republic of Dave doesn't require much effort but it's fun.
