Haven't played nearly as many RPGS as other people but probably something like:

Undertale
Dark Souls
Demons Souls
BG2
BG
Planescape Torment
Kingmaker
WOTR
Ultima Underworld
Chrono Trigger

In no particular order. Honourable mention to Nier Automata although it isn't an rpg. Yes I know I have faggy taste

The ordering on this list would probably change due to mood on any given day, and I'm mostly limiting myself to one game per franchise. There are doubtless also a few that would get bumped due to games I'm forgetting, but I think my list would consistently look something like:

1. Ultima Underworld
2. Wizardry 7
3. Goldbox Games. If I had to pick one series I'd pick Krynn, and if I had to pick one game I would pick Dark Queen. They're all very good to great though.
4. World of Xeen
5. Darklands
6. Icewind Dale
7. Gothic II
8. Morrowind
9. Kingmaker
10. Fallout

There are also a few games that I wouldn't label RPGs but are sometimes considered to be such that would likely rank or come very close to doing so if I were to include them; notably Age of Wonders, King of Dragon Pass, Deus Ex, Jagged Alliance 2, and Star Control II.

3. Legend of Grimrock 2
4. Theseus: Journey to Athens
5. A Legionary's Life
6. Morrowind
7. Dungeon Rats
8. Fallout New Vegas
9. Skyrim
10. Delver

  1. Baldur's Gate
  2. Dark Souls II (normal version, not sotfs)
  3. Arcanum
  4. Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous
  5. Pathfinder: Kingmaker
  6. Icewind Dale
  7. Baldur's Gate II
  8. Icewind Dale 2
  9. Witcher I
  10. Majesty/AoW II (Leveling = RPG)
Leveling = RPG, interesting. Damn I never knew there were so many crpg games of so many completely different genres. From sidescroller shooters to tower defense games and almost every genre you can imagine in between. They are all in reality crpg!

Other than that, i saw worse lists though it seems you REALLY like IE games. And Pathfinder. Almost nothing from non-action crpgs in-between. Also having games like ID1/2 and especially Dark Souls and not having Fallout1/2 is a big felony on the Codex. Punished by having to play Skyrim with ALL sex mods three times in a row. But i am ok with that, ID1 was certainly a good crpg, obscured by its older brothers BGs.

I played Fallout 1/2/3 and tactics and the only one that i semi liked was tactics after playing Wasteland 2 I'm done with post apo games I just don't feel the setting same with futuristic games they are always super bland and depressing compared to fantasy games especially BG I and IWD where you have tons of different landscapes colorful backgrounds and overall super relaxing atmosphere.

And about 10 place I couldn't come up with another rpg so after seeing that people list Dwarf Fortress and JA II I also added games that have some rpg elements but of course don't take this seriously I just love those two games, so I wanted to mention them c;

Dark Souls II

Explain your reasoning, please.

My brother gifted me Dark Souls I and I didn't like the game at all, so I dropped it and after some time DS II came up, and I gave it a chance I don't know what made the difference, but I had around 700 hours in it before they released any DLC after that I came back to DS I and finished it, but DS II will be always my favorite and of course DS III is trash not worth mentioning.

Let the newbie be bold and embarrass himself:

I have not played too many (quite some 90s stuff, though) and hardly any
new stuff which requires more than a potatoe computer (GPU mostly), just so
you could give me the benefit of the doubt if I would change my mind (I likely would) ... :p
One short of ten as of now. :O

Space Station 13
jParanoia (yup just a tool for the PnP equivalent via network)
Crusader Kings II (RPG game status also debateable)
Fallout 1 (I guess 1, if 2 actually had better/more meaningful choice options and epilogue then 2 maybe)
Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines

Not really RPG games in my view, especially SS2 and admittedly Sentient (I do realize that why VtM:B is not here instead as well feels arbitrary):
Sentient
Deus Ex
System Shock 2 (actuelly did not finish it fulle before I lost the save; did not play 1)
Arx Fatalis
Welcome to RPG Codex!

Also, play Dungeon Master via the Return to Chaos clone for Windows (link in signature).

I do understand the preference, but the witcher 1 isnt exactly the most colorful game out there

That's for sure, but I read Witcher saga when I was 14, so I got some nostalgia from the game, and it was cool to see familiar characters from the books in video game sadly after W1 they Americanized the shit out of Witcher so rip

Jagged Alliance 2 has more elements than some of the games you listed as crpgs in 1st to 9th place have. Think about what you consider typical elements for a crpg. JA2 has all or majority of those. In is more of a rpg than all Dark Souls games combined. Or one may claim and have good arguments - even than Icewind Dale 1 and 2 and Witcher. And claiming that it is somehow similar in "rpg-ness" to Majesty or AoW is plain retarded.
Additionally when people claim that Dwarf Fortress is a CRPG they probably don't claim that the fortress part is but the adventure mode. Which it sort of is, an open world one.

It's simple:
- I see IWD in your list, I give you a brofist;
- I don't see IWD in your list, I resent you forever and will pick fights with you every time I can.

It's as easy as that!

No, it's harder but still extremely subjective, something like this

Fallout 1+2 -> 3 points per game (but there's already 11 entries + 4 extra so just 3)
new vegas 0
Underrail 0
Pathfinder 1+2 -3pts (-2 for kingmaker, -3 for wrath)
Age of Decadence 1pt
Disco Elysium -6pts
Wasteland 2+3 2pts (for WL2, didn't play 3 yet)
Pillars of eternity 1 -2pts
kotor 1+2 1pt
bloodlines 0
deus ex 0

Total -4pts, no brofist for ya.

Wasteland 2 is superior to AoD?

Wasteland 2 is superior to AoD?

WL 2 is party-based with mostly good encounter design and combat (itemization is terrible though).
AoD is single character so there's that, also, closed chapters, CYOA-like but mostly single character.

Good thing they also got the challenge itself right

While in WL3 everything is piss easy and basically who striked first is usually who wins.

It isn't fair to come into a thread that is specifically based around sharing opinions (personal top ten) and then start giving people negative ratings. If we all agreed on the "codex top ten", then it would get pretty boring quickly.
It has come to my attention that I was wrong. :praying_hands:
