What game are you wasting time on?

Picked up the Ys games in a Steam sale and about to start playing them now. I literally have no idea what I'm getting into other than "Japanese action rpg".

Anime specialists! Tell me what the shit! I have alcohol covered.

edit: JESUS FUCKING CHRIST. Stumped at the first decision!
Ys 3 is probably my favorite out of them though because steam has been refusing to work on my computer for a few weeks now I can't play anymore of Origins. Either way Ys 3 is fun though it's a bit hard. You actually have to react quick and avoid attacks a lot since a few hits can wipe you out.

Which Ys is Ys 3? Oath of Felghana?
Yeah 3 is Oath in Felghana and Origins is a prequel to the entire series by a few hundred years if you care. Also Oath of Felghana and Origins have the same engine and gameplay (as does Ark of Napishtim) so it will probably be down to design on which one you like more.

Going back and forth between Demon's Souls and Dark Souls on my newly bought PS3.

The controller is much better than the Xbox360 controller. Also, I feel better knowing that no more of money is going towards Xbone.

I just installed MM3 on my galaxy note II to sneak playing time while I'm at work, thinking about getting a portable keyboard to enjoy it better (inventory management is kind of a pain with stylus-only input).

At home, when our ISP let us, I play Diablo 3 with my dad (don't hate me please, it's a guilty pleasure, no thinking just click click click and voice chatting with the old man). I have not settled yet to play anything seriously, with so many games and so little time I've been having a lot of trouble picking one and sticking to it.

Just discovered how shitty melee is in Borderlands. Why bother trying to get in range to do a slow melee strike while being pummeled with bullets and shit when I can just pop moles with a rifle rocket launcher.

Yeah, Borderlands 2 is the same thing, at long range enemies can't shoot you to save their lives(snipers and RPG robots are exceptions but it is more safe to kill them at long range anyway) and at close range you die so fast at higher levels of difficulty that or you have OP gear or you are going to die and at normal difficulty enemies are so easy to kill that the lack of challenge really bring boredom fast. This game isn't as fast to play as Diablo II but has the same retarded play two times to get some challenge nonsense.

I played melee/shotgun Zer0 (with Many Must Fall, of cause). You have to time your damage bonuses and hit critical points for melee to work, but it was probably most fun way to play B2. And it was before you could get Death Blossom and Many Must Fall at the same time.

I thought in trying zero but as there isn't melee weapons to get and the invisibility skill only really start to shine with many must fall and that short distance teleport , it felt like a okay character that some time can become invisible but nothing groundbreaking until many must fall. I don't know who came with the idea to make all the DLC to be fixed at levels 30-35 at normal difficulty when you can be easily overleveled at the end of the game and being forced to up the difficulty to get some challenge and fight level 37 enemies with weapons of level 30, I was so burn out at that point that didn't had patience to get better gear and continue playing.

In borderlands 1 I found a shotgun with +200% melee damage. That was pretty neat, but it was not long before the shotgun's damage was sub-par and I was only switching to it when I was going to melee swing.

WTF am I doing with my life?

Anyway, ChäoS;HEAd was awesome. I always expected Steins;Gate to be awesomer. I did play through it a while ago. The story seemed good and interesting, but the characters... Oh, Lord, the characters! Most of them were so obnoxious I wanted them to die in painful ways. I mean, like, ChäoS;HEAd main character was obnoxious as bleep, yeah, but it seems they were trying to outdo themselves and made half the cast in Steins;Gate so awful you want to slap them, and the main character is even MORE obnoxious than that dude was. But after getting bored quite early in Shadowrun Returns I decided to give it another go, to soldier through to see the end of the pretty cool story.

I always thought I had stoped playing two-thirds through or so, and aside the obnoxious characters I did so because the cool plot they did set up seemed to be going nowhere. Yet it seems I was mistaken. I went through about twice as much Steins;Gate than I went before and the ending is still nowhere in sight. Actually, the plot did JUST NOW decided to kick in. As in, five minutes ago. Those guys really like to write, don't they? :? Anyway, the main character did stop being obnoxious a few hours ago and I no longer want to murder him. And he just grew a pair and beated to unconsciousness an armed guy by means of many headbutts while being tied so I guess I will start to like him. The other obnoxious characters (Faris, Mayuri, fatdude) have been relegated to extremely secondary roles as well so I am starting to enjoy this bleep. And the story went from slice of life comedy about otas playing fringe science to time travel weirdness with a side serving of conspiracy theories to an extremely cruel take on groundhog day so it is getting kind of awesome now. I guess I'll manage to see the ending this tim... Wait, what?

I did just sink more than twenty hours into this thingie. I did just check and... I am not even at the halfway point.

What the hell, Japan?

Pandora's Tower on Wii.

An OK game that must have had lots of potential during the early brainstorming phase. Alas, only small remnants of it remain like whispers of Atlantis.

Grow bored in Shadowrun Returns. Fast. It's just an adventure game with combat. Yawn.

Gonna start Outcast.

Ninja Blade.

While the game certainly has its flaws, it does have some relatively interesting elements, like the extremely fun greatsword, and the core mechanics aren't terrible. Shame that lots of QTEs, rail-shooter sequences, and some uninspired enemy and boss mechanics drag it down.

Time to try Nier, I suppose.

Surprise, it's a first person shooter.

2 of the "classes'" special "skills" revolve almost completely around melee. If not for that I would not complain.

FTL. I like the game, but hate how it psychologically pressures me with time limit and roguelikeness. So far I only got to last sector three times (one on normal), and once got flagship to three hp , but then run out of boarding crew and rockets. And my boarding droid got stuck in one of enemy weapon compartment.

But so far, rockets (to medical bay and weapons) + teleport has proven to be best strategy, so that's how I am playing now.
