Well ME3 is as much of a given as ME2 was considering the ending.

The only reason they are screaming "ME3!" is because of it using the Incisor rifle from ME2 but using existing models as a placeholder is hardly unusual.

And yes, the EA Overlords will run BioWare into the ground ... problem with EA and how it runs its studios is a deeply entrenched issue that cannot be corrected without fire its entire middle management and completely change its internal policies, the "musical chairs" dance just nothing changes and incompetent managers are simply moved to a new studios instead of being sacked ... its corporate culture (cover your own ass, pass the bucket) at its very worst.
