What I want from FromSoftware is an RPG. You don't know what I mean? They should add-in dialogues or at least Quick Time Events that decide what happens in your playthrough based on some serious Metal Gear Solid cutscenes, they're Japanese, they know how to.

The setting? Anything but what they've already done.

An RPG set in one of the following settings:

1.Clark Ashton Smith's "Zothique"

2. Gene Wolfe's "Book of the New Sun"

3. Jack Vance's "Dying Earth"

4. William Hope Hodgson's "The Night Land"

Miyazaki wouldn't even have to change much to his usual recipe. Unbroken, ruinous fields of ash and bones; shrunken seas; sable sands lapsing through cycles untold; the last embers of forbidden suns; the sere, frore susurration of corpses as they re-animate in windless vaults.

And Mordiggian could have his own Covenant!

Give or take I liked all their games so far, but Sekiro is the one with the best combat system and boss mechanics, by a wide margin.
So more of that stuff. I don't particularly care about keeping the same setting, though. In fact, something new would be better.

And let's see how Armored Core VI turns out.

This thread would be more appropriate in the JRPG or even General Gaming forums. IMHO of course!

an rpg

they should try making one at least once

this. I wish they would put their considerable resources into something that wasn't about invincibility frames and stuff like that and make an interesting RPG with actual dialogs. they clearly have the chops to make a visually interesting world. I just don't have an interest in the soul-like gameplay.

Sekiro 2. They really nailed the feel of swordfighting, parrying and hitting the enemy feels amazing.

With the bonkers, ass-backwards, retarded questlines FromSoft managed to pull with Elden Ring, I have no trust whatsoever in their ability to understand what is a sensible dialogue or interaction with an NPC. Sellen's questline alone—arguably the epitome of FromSoft's alienness to both dialogues and the simple notion of 'asking a question'—should detract from anyone wanting them to develop an RPG.

Yeah, what was mysterious and added to the charm and atmosphere, and even replayability, in Dark Souls was just annoying and made me not care at all about any of the NPCs in the humongous pile of shit that is Elden Ring.
