Digital Eclipse said several times their game is based on the original code, so Sir-Tech would need Greenberg's consent. If he doesn't know about it, either he settled with Sir-Tech and cancelled the agreement

I'm sure they have settled a long time ago. He'd have to be a total lunatic to still hold a grudge against a long defunct company in the industry he has long left behind him after all these years.

You really think Sirotek would just greenlight it after Greenberg litigated with him for 10 years and drove his company to the ground? "Pah, it's probably nothing, he'll never find out?" Nigga, please.

Good, if he gets them to remove this game, it's one less cancer in this series. If only he was fast enough to do the same for that ugly ass PS1 game.

Apparently, you can turn off random level-ups and are able to manually put points into attributes, which is a good change. There's nothing worse than levelling up and seeing stats go down, hated it in Elminage too.

Even when it was introduced I had to wonder why? It wasn’t in PnP unless a creature temp or perma drained you. I don’t recall gaining a level only to have shit GO DOWN. Yeah, it can in Wiz end a character career so there is that but the dungeon itself is brutal enough. Meh, a toggle to turn it off is fine. After decades of the original I just don’t really give a damn except to maybe put many features in the game so one has choice. I’ll keep parroting, “add every platform asset to it so you can switch on the fly.” Play a fucking vanilla and hard or as easy and pussified and modern as you want. THE OPTION TO DO & PLAY AS YOU WANT.

Otherwise, I can just jam on an emulator. I don’t need to simp to graphic & SFX whores.

This is acceptable if the save is marked forever with a shame pussy tag. An achievement is doable as well. Everyone would see how pussy you are.

Apparently changing classes DOES NOT revert your stats to racial minimums in this remake, and there is no option to change this.
This will lead to insane stats on characters just by class changing a few times. :/

Weird, I thought this is basically just a graphical overlay for the core Apple2 version

this would be a pretty big change

Yeah they have stated it is built on the Apple II PASCAL code and it is more a graphical overlay. If the racial minimums revert is in the Apple II version would seem odd if they changed that. Would not hurt to possibly ask about that on the steam forums.
