The whole plot revolves around the idea that the dragon aspects have lost their power and want to regain it. There has not been mention of any ability or task they are unable to do right now. In fact, the opposite is routinely demonstrated. They can cast all sorts of magic, including operating dozens of mirror images all acting and learning independently or manipulating time travel.

Also no explanation as to why powering up a dragon beacon would do anything, let alone why it would recreate the one-time titan process that made them aspects. Or why the power of friendship is activating the beacons.

Then there's also the beacon from the trailer, but it plays no part in the campaign.

Surely Wow loves his beacons. I don't know is just like they are repeating the same narrative over and over again. If you look every expansion after the lich king the follows all the same scheme. The one expansion that attempted truly to do something different after The lich king storyline is Legion after that is a repeating over of the same cliche Villains with always the same reality/realm threat of mass destruction.

I point it out because this is supposed to be Steve Danuser's and Christie Golden's magnum opus. The narrative they have lied into existence is that Shadowlands was the best anyone could do at salvaging a drunk rapist's ideas.

But here we are and the same problems that were "heard as feedback" are on display again. Villains with no motivation. Unclear what the player's goal is aside from upgrading equipment. Mechanics/power level/tension between different magic and creatures is never shown.

It's all treated as a placeholder before something real happens. But we've seen behind the curtain enough times to know there's nothing waiting there. Even when they retcon the titans into villains later.

Not only that but there are those Micheal bay moments in the story with this cartoonish villain with a very growling voice.
Raaaaawr i am the bad guy that wants to destroy everything because i am a Villain.
Why you are a villain? Because i want to destroy everything!
Why do you want to destroy everything? Because i am a villain!

Peak storytelling lol.
It is boring but hardly a new pattern for Blizzard. They've been doing this since at least the first StarCraft.

I get what you mean. Some friends of mine tried Dragonflight but in the end, they already want to quit. They did some right things but heck. It is UGLY. And is still plagued with the blizzard gimmicks the only thing they did right was copy mounts mechanics from gw2 and the hud customization from FF14 even if to a more limited degree.
I feel like they are creatively bankrupts.

Tried few hours of retail wow and honestly, fells like I'm playing an mmo version of ArcaniA ie - pure shit. At lv 10, I have destroyed an entire ogre city and killed a freaking undead dragon.

Hell, I liked classic wow but really hated this retail wow. With dragonflight or not. he unique class with good AoE is the mage and even mages, needs to be about lv 26 to have improved Blizzard + Cone of Cold to be viable for AoE mass killing.

Saw lots of players walking around with high level demons like doomguards. In classic, getting an imp was easy, mid tier demons like voidwalker, succubus and the felhunter, require a very long quest to enslave them. And high level demons could only be temporarily controlled, and eventually would break free, some could only be summoned via large scale rituals which kill one of the involved. That is how demonology should be in games.

I also saw dwarf warlock in wow retail despite it making zero sence.

Ugh i watched some cinematic of Dragonflight the art style gives me brain rot.

I just looked at the thumbnail, and thought at first it was some shitty sfm of mario with princess peach on the left. Brain froze for 5 sec as I was trying to the correlation between mario and the world of warcraft logo.

Is the main villain the other dragons that have never been mentioned in the story so far and appear in the trailer? The one with the baby trex arms? I read about them. Apparently now in the WoW lore there was a war between dragons and other dragons, then our dragons sealed them away in the forbidden zone and now they have broken free because of the Cataclysm.

They want to kill us because titans or other stuff. So I guess we are back to Old Gods as our end-of-expansion villain. I don't really care about it as much, it's either the Legion or Old Gods. The legion are demosn that want to fuck shit up because that is what demons do and the Old Gods want to fuck shit up because they are eldricht abominations.

Blizzard fucked up because we killed the Legion in...Legion. There is no more legion to be fought so now they go the old god route. Seriously, just look at the Najzatar patch in Battle for Azeroth. That could have been an entire expansion. Another possible expansion that will never happen now? Going underground, nerubian empire, underdark ripoff, etc. Their last hail mary pass will be Sargeras' sword, it's sticking out of An Quiraj, maybe it's bigger on the inside and we have some multilevel, tower of babel adventure.

My shadowlands hope was that, canonically, time passes much slower in the other side. So we do the shadowlands expansion, centuries pass and we come to a new Azeroth, full conversion of the map with different factions. No more Horde/Alliance.

My new hope is that the next expansion will take us into space and start re-colonizing planets that the Legion fucked up.

Eould be possible recolonize Argus? True the legion was done but the place still recks of Fel magic.

Sargeras is not dead, so they will still go one of two routes: Burning Crusade 3.0 or Sargeras redemption story where he now fights The Void Lords™. As for the old gods, they'll keep coming back because they can't be killed without destroying Azeroth because Blizzard writers need to rehash the same story beats over and over again.

How much woke BS there is in retail wow? I've heard that they removed genders from char creation, putted burkas in succubi and renamed some spells ie - instead of enslave demon is now "subjulgate"

Stormwind and Dalaran human NPCs got blackwashed. Garrosh's "shut your mouth bitch!" line to Sylvanas in the Silverpine Forest questline was removed.

Since Shadowlands your character is referred to as 'they'. The plot of Shadowlands is about the robot that judges your life and decides which afterlife you go to being replaced with a non-binary mortal. This person is now the arbiter of your eternal existence. Everyone clapped.

They still have some epic quests to go on!

Even i as a bi person found the over exposition rapresentation infuriating. It takes me away from the immersion when stuff gets put in only to tick an agenda. Is not like we never had bi or homo character in the pasts however they were well put in the story and better written. Vivec from Morrowind. Veronica and the other follower in new vegas.
But like this is nothibg more than virtue signaling and a nuisance that has nothing to do to flesh out a world. There is also a quest involving two gay centaurus that is rather similiar.

I can't believe how many of you still play this fucking thing. Anyway, someone above was talking about their hopes for the future of WoW. Mine is that they finally pull the plug and maybe make something new or open the field for something like WoW 2 that would hopefully actually be decently designed, etc. instead of this weird hodge podge of level squish and shoe horning talent/ability rearrangements every expansion now.
