I actually wanted to resub for a month to check out TWW but you still can't use Bnet balance to do that.
Seems kinda weird.

Go to the shop in the Blizzard launcher and type in "game time" and you can buy 2 months. Can't buy 1 month, though.

I suppose it says a lot about the state of the market right now but I've noticed quite a few old friends/acquaintances checking out the expansion again.

Two of us are trying our hand at raiding again and found a guild willing to take us on. I've some rust to work off but we're starting with normal mode and progressing through heroic and then mythic so - fingers crossed - I won't make too much of a fool of myself.

I'm going as a Destruction Warlock.

I had a high-level player randomly whisper to me that he was going to mail some items my way that he considered "useless" If I didn't know better I thought he was just trolling me by sending a message saying "some items" or something stupid, but he gave me 30+ level items that I couldn't use yet and just went on his merry way

I did the Aggregation of Horrors world boss. It is modeled after a GW2 styled meta event where you have to escort the three Goblin shredders up their lanes to the world boss, though unlike a GW2 event, the distances are so short that there is no challenge. In a GW2 event, you have to have people staying put in each lane, but here the shredders are just 100 feet away, meaning you can mount up on your dragonriding mount and get there in 3 seconds. So there is just a zerg bouncing to whichever shredder is being attacked by mobs. The world boss' design himself reminds me of Shadow Behemoth. The boss was also bugged and did not give loot when killing him in a raid group, so I had to kill him again without a group to get credit.
Tried it myself. Absolutely horrible. I have no idea what kind of monkey they have designing this garbage but they need to get rid of him. I bet it's the same single-celled organism that designed the superbloom.

I tanked 3 mythic0s last night: Necrotic Wake, Boralus, and Grim Batol. Boralus and Necrotic Wake (except for 3rd boss) were a breeze. In contrast, fuck Grim Batol.

Grim Batol was brutal. The unavoidable AoE, the tank busters, the awkward placement of mechanics. This was designed to give a healer a drinking problem.

I'll probably tank m0 after doing my delves and I'm dreading most of this season Dungeons...

You can do it! Just keep in mind that Mythic0 is more akin to m10+ back in Dragonflight and there is no timer. Don’t feel rushed to overpull, because there is so much AOE, kicks, and poison/bleeds that you can blow the group up.

Managed to do City of Threads, but my Grim Batol healer couldn't keep up with the 3rd boss and we gave up...

That sucks. I am surprised they made it through the second ogre boss and not the third though.

Stonevault will be interesting. With the exception of one wing, there is a mob in each hallway that practically necessitates smaller pulls imo. First hallway to Edna has the Voidsouls that casts AOE fear. East hallway to Skarmorak has a mob that pulses a lot of AOE. Last hallway to Void Speaker has the rock golems that cast AOE circles to knock everyone around. The sole exception is the western hallway that leads to the machinists, which may end up being one of hardest boss fight of this season.

The last boss of City of Echoes is hard countered by DK though. My group wiped at 33% and I soloed her. Deaths Advance negates the vortex mechanic, Anti Magic Shell trivializes the poison, and she doesn’t hit nearly hard enough at this level to warrant defensive CDs.

All I have left is Mist of Tirna.

The raid went well. We got all but the last boss down and only didn't push through it because we were wrapping up for the night anyway. A few wipes on some bosses but we got there. The web mechanic on the penultimate boss was a bit finicky until it clicked.

It's definitely nostalgic to fight Nerubians again.

Horde really took a population hit, it seems. At least on my server cluster. I'm playing in war mode and I rarely see any Horde players around. Good thing I went Alliance this time around, I guess.

Yeah I've been in war mode while doing world quests and gathering outdoors, and Alliance have been claiming all of the crates. No Horde come to contest.

2-person delves are a slog; however, it seems I was able to piggy back off of my friend’s bountiful delve. While I exhausted all of mine prior, I was still able to use a coffer key at the end of my buddy’s delve, which I don’t think was intended.

All bosses down on normal and the first boss on heroic. Second boss has a cool new mechanic, managed to get it down to 11% but we're in need of better gear. I like delves for the most part, at least when I have a reliable interrupt to counter web blast...

So, on a scale of 1/10 how much is raiding an integral part of WoW's early lifespan? cause the TBC realm I'm in is quite low-populated, and I've been questing left, right, and center, but haven't engaged in any raiding, mass-scale dungeon crawling, or anything of the sort. Am I missing out on something huge (or preferably fun)?

It's an endgame activity relying on lots of coordination. Great if you have many friends. Otherwise it's like a dungeon with 20 people sabotaging you. There are a lot of set pieces and lore characters in the raids, but the individual jobs in a raid encounter are usually simplistic.

If you care about the story you can always go back when you out level it.

i've heard of some pservers that have npc raid groups so you can solo raid
wish they would bring that to retail normal mode raids at least

They're already gonna add a Story Mode for the final boss, just so people that don't raid can... "kill her" and watch the cutscene I guess? (they could just watch on Youtube)

I found it fun back in the day but it was mostly because I was in a fun guild. Just having so many people banded together and working towards a goal and seeing our improvement (both individual and as a group) was really nice. So if you find a nice community that you can gel with it can be close to a 10. If not, you still have to bear in mind that a lot of the quests and activities that you do in the world are related and have their closure within that raid tier.

You can always just do LFR. 90% of the people that queue up for LFR play just like an NPC.

I thought that's what LFR was for?
It's literally story mode raids tuned so a group of total randoms can clear.

TWW is the "subscription single player MMO" attempt.

Story mode means DPS don't have to wait in queue.

LFR is too easy, i just don't want to raid with other people. raiding with other people = waiting 30 minutes to get the group together, then /readycheck and 2 people don't click ready cuz they went afk, so wait 5 more minutes, then 3 people sit in giant red circle of obvious death the whole fight and dies, group wipes, then spend 10 minutes running back and buffing, then someone needs to pee,

i don't have so much time for gaming to deal with this shit
