In more terrible news, YouTube has footage from the latest Legion alpha patch. Garrison mission tables are back in the class order hall. Only difference is that followers are renamed to champions and ships are renamed to armies.

:deadtroll:

It's official. They are actively trying to kill WoW.

Mythic+ 5mans sound great to me. Just wish speed running wasn't such a factor. Would prefer enrages on individual packs/bosses to be the thing to stop you from using cheesy 3-tank 2-healer groups or whatever, then just have being able to clear it get you to the next stage. Going in knowing a DC or one person needing to AFK could ruin it sucks.

I like how "more trash mobs!" is one of the difficulty modifiers. It's like they've tunneled straight to the core of what players doing 5mans really want

As opposed to playing same content over and over with no modifiers?
For a game with 'tons of issues" you lot sure find retarded things to complain about, including positive changes.

Also, way to be ignorant like the guy making the video, the core of the system is from PoE not D3.

Setting your own challenge level is fine, City of Heroes did it around 2004.

That said, using the challenge mode ruleset as a baseline would be better.. ensuring relevance of content during the lifetime of at least the xpac, requiring no further tweaks, and removing the chance that some stupid overpowered piece of gear will destroy the challenge. That is, unless blizz fucks something up-- oh nevermind then, carry on!

About those features from D3 or PoE, it doesnt matter - what matters is that those are ARPGs with a focus on solo gameplay ( you can party but game doesnt support in any way but allowing it ). WoW is an MMORPG that should be focused on social gameplay.

The Garrisons went away?

Nope. They're pretty much universally reviled by the players, which is why it is funny they are being brought back as a mandatory part of the levelling process.

People thought we'd be back in Dalaran with other players doing the whole mmo thing. Instead we'll all be in our instanced "command room" or whatever they'll call it in our class instance. Playing a Facebook game while waiting for our instanced 15-minute Diablo 5man corridor to pop. Then we'll run through the same corridor for the 50th time with 4 strangers. In silence, because talking is unnecessary and delays everyone from getting their token purple and going back to their Facebook game.

At least when you segment everyone away in tiny instances, you can keep the bandwidth requirements at a minimum, maximising the amount of marrow they can suck or of the bones of wows corpse. Abandon all hopw, ye who d1p.

This is the point where I would have said: "At least we still have Nostalrius".

On one hand, daily quests are a fucking blight on the face of MMOdom, and I welcome any attempt to eradicate them. On the other hand, uh, isn't this just a simplified copy of GW2 world events? Cutting-edge design work there, doods.
